I was looking for something that would keep our tortoise warm when he was out and about in winter. He's not the hibernating kind, and so is active all year round. Finding the Heat and UVB Light Combo from Martin was absolutely perfect, and my experience with him and his shop has been lovely!
Communication with Martin was brilliant and I was given plenty of updates about how the building process was coming along. I also massively appreciated that Tortoise welfare was a big point in the making of this item, and that Martin would keep coming back around to it: asking me about how big our little guy was so that the distance of the UVB from his shell was safe enough.
The final product was bigger than I thought it would be, so there's a lot of room for Odi' to grow and still be a safe distance from the UVB, but even then, you can play around with the distance yourself to make sure it's ideal.
It's a really fancy piece of kit and I feel really chuffed when friends and family ask about it when they're over. Odi', of course, loves it, and I cannot thank Martin enough for making it for me and for managing to send it to us before Christmas. It was the best present ever and it meant that Odi' could charge around, inspect the wrapping paper and judge us for longer than usual, because he had a warm place to return to when he got too cold.
