Its good to be back!

After my customary Summer break it's great to get back out doing the showers! Firstly a visit to Penwortham to meet Theo and his owner Emma 😃 And then on to see birthday boy Gizmo and his owner (and old friend!) Sally who who we worked out we'd not seen each other for nearly 20 years! We're so old! 🤣

Live too far away for one of our showers? 🌎

You may not know that we offer Dirty Dawg Shower Kits for those of you who live too far away for me to install it. The kit comes with all the major components required for the shower as well as a step by step video guide. You will just need a competent installer/plumber and the job should typically take them around 2 hours to complete! 🔧👷🏻‍♂️

Kits with protective box are £139 and without are just £99 both prices include first class postage 📦

Here are Lenny and Daffie modelling their new shower after their owner Beth moved up to the Lake District! Beth had previously had a shower at her old address which we installed but couldn't live without the warm after walkies shower 🔥

About 18 months ago I nearly rebranded Dirty Dawg, to become 'The Dog Shower Co'. I had the logo drawn up and everything ready to go. But I remembered over the years how people told me how they use the shower for all sorts of different things. Hot tubs, wellies, football boots and even washing their hair when having the bathroom refitted 😂

So many people have told me how they loved the name 'Dirty Dawg' and how it stands out from the crowd so I'm really happy I stuck with it 😃 Here is a picture of one of my customers son's cleaning off his mountain bike after a particularly muddy run!

Introduction to Scent Work

This is for those who are interested in the world of scentwork and want to learn more about their dog.

Goals for the session:

Theory:

🐾Basic understanding of how your dog’s nose works, the capabilities it has and how they process this information.

🐾Basic understanding of how we use this capability for you and your dog to work a structured ‘lineup’ search.

Practical:

🐾An understanding of what motivates/ reinforces your dog to search.

🐾Basic searches where your dog will find its reinforcer.

🐾Basic understanding of shaping an indication

🐾Lesson plan of what we have completed in the class.

Please note:

🐾Dogs will be working one or two at a time and will have 2 sessions each with the instructor.
🐾All other dogs MUST be kept in your vehicle in between working.
🐾Breaks will be available for your dogs to be toileted on a lead.
🐾No reactive dogs.
🐾Open to all ages from puppies to golden oldies.
🐾We will be working both in and outdoors.

Tea, Coffee and biscuits available throughout the day.
