CLASS 1 DRIVER POSITION AVAILABLE

Work includes delivering bulk & palletised Shavings to Poultry and Dairy farms across the UK.
Also, unloading and placing Shavings within the Poultry sheds using our own Tele-handlers.
Flexible nights out ideally 2-3 a week or can be all week if needed.
Saturday/ Sunday work occasionally due to Poultry demand.
Own wagon, good hourly rate depending on experience, non smoker preferred, preferably over 25 but will consider younger with a good reference and experience.

Must keep a clean Truck.

An ideal candidate would have some farm/ machinery work experience.

Whitfire Position Available
We are looking to appoint a shaving machinery operator to work along side 2 other people as a 3 person team.
The role will entail the supervision and operation of the industrial shavers to ensure that they are operating correctly, safely and efficiently; in addition to ensuring that the machinery and its surroundings are clean at all times. This entails clearing timber shaving residues from the workshop floor.
A further element of the role includes ensuring that the cutting heads are sharp to maximise the operating efficiency of the shavers. The cutting heads are regularly removed by the supervisors and sharpened by a semi automated grinder that reconditions the cutting blades. This task will be relatively straight forward to anyone with prior experience of machine tools and/or engineering.
Training will be provided to ensure safe and competent operation of the machinery.
Forklift & Telehandler experience is also beneficial, but training can be provided to the successful candidate if needed.
Working hours are:
06:00 to 18:00 - Monday to Friday
06:00 to 13:00 - Saturday
Overtime is rate x 1.5.
The probationary period of training is 3 months.
Breaktimes and lunchtimes are paid in addition to working time

MACHINE OPERATOR/LOG CRANE OPERATOR(on site Log Crane operator/timber)
Position Available

Whitfire Shavings & Sawdust are looking for a candidate who must be hardworking, punctual and reliable.

Based in Preston/Leyland.

The Job includes:
- Loading/Unloading of Timber Wagons
- Operating industrial shavers with 2 other colleagues as part of a team of 3.
- Supervising the shavers to ensure they are l working correctly, safely and efficiently.
- Removal of cutting heads regularly and sharpening the heads by a semi automated grinder.
- Working with other colleagues in the team to get the job done efficiently.

Experience:
- Log Crane Operator/ Forklift and Telehandler experience is beneficial.

Training:
- Full training provided to ensure safe and competent operation of the machinery

Working days:
- 7am to 6 pm Monday to Friday
- 7am to 1 pm Saturday
- Overtime Rates available, further discussion prior to interview.
