Hot Weather Walk Policy โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿพ

As the weather warms up, hereโ€™s a quick reminder of how we handle dog walks when it gets a bit too warm to be enjoyable for our pups! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Once temperatures reach 24ยฐC or above, we put a pause on standard walks. Dogs donโ€™t cool themselves the way humans do, and overheating can happen quickly, and it can be dangerous. โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ

What happens instead?
โ€ข Walks can be swapped for garden visits! toilet breaks, fresh water, and calm enrichment
โ€ข Or walks are moved to earlier morning time slots to beat the heat โ˜€๏ธ

Why the caution?

How well a dog handles heat depends on several factors, including age, breed, and weight. Some dogs struggle more than others, and enthusiasm doesnโ€™t always come with good judgment.

Itโ€™s always better tso be safe than sorry โ€” and for extra peace of mind, Iโ€™m fully first aid trained should an emergency ever arise. ๐Ÿฅฐ

Tomorrows group walk will be collections between 8.30am & 9am and home before 11am. Luckily, we have plenty of shade before 10.30am ๐Ÿพ

Depending on the temperature, walks after this may alter to check-ins, but I will message Solos individually to update you shortly ๐Ÿซถ

There is a kind of pain that doesnโ€™t scream.

It doesnโ€™t ask for help.
It doesnโ€™t search for words.
It doesnโ€™t try to be seen.

It just lies beside you.

Quietly.

In that moment.
Your hand still reaches out.
A body that no longer moves.
And a heart that is not ready to let go.

We are never taught how to say goodbye.

No one teaches us how it feels
to hold a fluffy baby bear you can no longer keep.

How to say โ€œthank youโ€
when all you want to say is โ€œstay.โ€

Your soul dog lies peacefully.
They are silent.
No struggle.
No fear.

Then you are there beside themโ€ฆ still trying to hold on.

Holding on to warmth.
To memories.
To the sound of paws following you through life.
To every quiet moment that will no longer feel ordinary.

Because love doesnโ€™t disappear in a second.

It stays.

In a touch.
In silence.
In the quiet mornings
In tears no one sees.

We are told that strength means not crying.
That we should stay composed.
Stay strong.

But real strength is allowing yourself to feel.

All the pain.
All the loss.
All the love that never really left.

Because if it hurts โ€” it was real.

And maybe the most important thing in moments like this is not words.

Its simply being there until the end. I was lucky enough to welcome him into the world & be there for his last breath.

This has truly broken my heart, but some bonds donโ€™t end with loss of life.

They become memory.

They become part of your heart.

They become the quiet ache you carry forever.

For someone you can no longer hold โ€”
but will never truly let go.

He always defied the odds. He made it though more than most dogs could handle.
