šŸ“¢ Important Update for Our Clients
*****update - we now have a locum vet to cover Friday 25th July ****

We’re very sorry to let you know that our vet Charlie is feeling unwell and has had to go home this afternoon. As a result, all of her appointments for the rest of the day are cancelled.

We understand how frustrating this can be, and we’re truly sorry for any inconvenience caused. We’re currently trying to arrange cover for tomorrow, but at such short notice, it may be difficult. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we know more.

Charlie needs to rest and recover, and we know you’ll all join us in wishing her a speedy recovery. šŸ’š

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

A big Thank you to Callum who saw a post about Mr Tom a stray cat brought to us who needed veterinary treatment. Callum donated £10 of his pocket money and brought in treats and toys. Mr Tom has now been castrated, vaccinated, flea/worm treated, had bloods and a dental with extractions. He is today leaving us to go with Otterspool Animal Haven who will find him a forever home 🧔
Thank you Callum for your kindness, Mr Tom will be taking his treats and toys with him šŸ’š

We have seen a few pets with ticks recently. They are parasites which suck blood and are common in woodland and grassland.

They are vectors, transmitting diseases so it is inportant they are removed promptly ensuring the head is also removed. This is easily done with a tick twist off tool (available over the counter from us and worth carrying one around).

Don’t try to remove them by lotions or burning as this is not an effective way to avoid disease.

Ticks carry Lyme disease which affects humans and animals. Symptoms are depression, lethargy, loss of appetite, fever, lameness and swollen lymph nodes.

You can prevent ticks by using some prescription only medications such as Bravecto every 3 months.
If you would like any further information please contact the practice.

Yesterday we had ā€˜little and large’ in back to back consults!

Beautiful baby Otis was in with his dad for a puppy check and then right at the other end of the spectrum we had gentle giant Murphy in with his dad!

Murphy is literally 10 times the size of Otis, but they were great with each other. šŸ–¤šŸ’š
