Hello, I'm Lila! I've been here for a whole 386 days! I feel like that's a long time but it’s ok as I'm getting all my cuddles in with my friends here at Longview. I've been out and about with lots of my human friends, I’ve visited their homes and even been to the beach a couple of times which I really love but I wish it could be like that every day. I absolutely love cuddles; it's my favourite thing to do. Everyone here says they can't understand why I haven't found my forever home as I am such a sweetheart. I’ve even been allowed to spend time in a reception although I don't understand all of that paperwork my human friends have to do but it's fun to meet all of the new people. I arrived here after my previous owner could no longer take care for me along with my daughter, she found her new home last year so I really want to find mine this year. I would like a home where I am the only dog so I get all of the attention as everyone says I'm a little princess. I really hope I can find someone who wants me as I'd love a family where I can spend all evening curled up on someone's lap and have a duvet I can cuddle under. If you are interested in meeting me then please put in an application.

Hi I'm Delboy! I'm a French Bulldog cross and my friends here at RSPCA Blackpool say I've been here 606 days, I don't know how long that actually is but I feel like it's a long time. I know it's enough that I've been here for two Christmas'. My brother Timmy has already found his new family so I don't understand why I haven't found mine. As much as I love everyone here, I'd really love to find my own home where I can stretch my legs and play all the time. I didn't have the greatest start in life and it can take me a little while to know that I can trust people again but I am a big cuddle bug once I know that you're going to be my friend. Everyone here has been so kind and patient with me so I'd love that from my new family. My favourite thing in the world is to play fetch with a ball; I could do that for hours and hours! I love being out on adventures and one of my human friends here took me out in her car to the beach and because I was such a good boy I even had a pup cup, it really was the best day! I would really love to find a forever home that is quiet, pet free and with adults only. I have spent a lot of time here and been told about how well I've been doing with meeting new people, I just need time and patience. If you are interested in meeting me then please put in an application.

Here at Longview, we are having a French Bulldog appreciation day! These small dogs have big personalities and have lots of love to give everyone. Did you know French Bulldogs despite their name didn't first originate in France? They were bred as a miniature version of English Bulldogs as lapdogs for lace makers in the 1800s predominantly in Nottingham. As the lace trade moved over to France, they were then bred with other terrier breeds to create the recognisable breed we now have with us today. They were bred as companion dogs which makes them very affectionate and loyal family members. French Bulldogs have also been described as being very adaptable to their environments. The registration of French Bulldogs increased in the late 2000s as the breed became more popular in the media. Unfortunately, here at Longview we are finding more and more French Bulldogs coming through our doors and they are taking longer to find their forever homes as the popularity they once had has began to fall. Two Frenchies currently in our care; Delboy and Lila have been so overlooked despite them being amazing dogs and they both want to tell you all a little bit about themselves.
