😅The young boys training today and Ragnar thought his name was Thor!

😶Thor froze as he didn’t know what to do!

🤪Ragnar decided to have a go again whilst still holding his dummy!

✅Perfection takes time and training.

✅Training is progressive but you still sometimes need to go back a step at times.

✅Stop close and stop at distance is a brilliant command to teach! Especially mid hunt or mid retrieve!

✅In training it’s good to have a negative marker word!

✅It should be generic so it can be used in every situation your dog ignores or doesn’t fully complete a command. It can be used as a stern “No” aswell

✅Train the command correctly then if they test boundaries you should correct!

✅ This helps your dog understand its learning so much more clearly as dog themselves are black and white.

⚠️Stop repeating commands they know!

✅Lovely weekend doing 4 demos, giving advice, running a scurry and networking Rookesbury Park Hampshire Pet Fair
Showing people what Gundogs are all about.

✅We even had a bird of prey intruding our display from neighbouring ring, all 7 dogs sat nice and steady with a few shaking with adrenaline but holding their sit 💪🏼

These two nippers couldn’t mark on water a week ago, they couldn’t retrieve more than a few metres on water.

Through the right confidence building and training, they can now swim across a decent size pond on a retrieve and back again, with a nice delivery.

On water retrieve you don’t want any shaking with a dummy in mouth or dropping of the dummy!
