Let’s talk about Blue-Green Algae, with temperatures getting warmer we know it’s tempting to let your dogs swim more but this algae comes with toxic and possibly fatal consequences. Symptoms can develop quickly and can be caused by your dogs swimming, drinking or licking it from their fur. If you think your dogs have come into contact with Blue-Green Algae rinse your dog off immediately and contact your Vet. We are always happy to help! 🙂

🌷 Spring blooms = hidden dangers for pets! 🐾

As gardens burst into colour, remember: some spring flowers can be toxic to your pets!

🚫 Watch out for these:
⚠️ Lilies (extremely toxic!)
⚠️ Tulips & Hyacinths
⚠️ Daffodils
⚠️ Crocuses
⚠️ Azaleas & Rhododendrons

Even a nibble can cause serious health issues — from upset stomachs to life-threatening reactions.

🌿Pet-safe spring flowers include:
✅ Roses (although watch out for thorns!)
✅ Sunflowers
✅ Zinnias
✅ Marigolds
✅ Orchids
✅ African Violets
✅ Asters
✅ Petunias
✅ Pansies

🌿 Tip: Even with pet-safe plants, try to discourage nibbling. Too much of any plant can still cause an upset tummy!

❌ Ammonia
❌ Disinfectant sprays & wipes
❌ Essential oils

Even “natural” products can be risky for curious noses and paws. Be sure to:
✔️ Read labels
✔️ Store cleaning supplies out of reach
✔️ Ventilate rooms
✔️ Opt for pet-safe alternatives when possible!
