Hey guys! It's been a while since I've posted so I wanted to check in and start with thanking everyone for booking last year. It was just over a year ago that I decided to officially re-launch Tales of the Wild (formerly known as Casey's Creatures) and honestly I thought it would take a while for the word to get out but that was not the case at all - last year was one of our busiest and most successful to date!
For anyone new to the page and not sure what we do, my name is Casey and I am lucky enough to share my life with a whole host of incredible animals, the vast majority of which are rescues, and I do this all out of my own pocket. I have dedicated my entire life to caring for wildlife and helping to inspire the next generation to do the same. I do this by visiting schools, youth groups, nursing homes and private events with my animals that act as ambasadors for their wild counterparts. I truly believe that by getting to meet and connect with animals in person can inspire people to want to save them. So if you are a teacher or youth leader and you're looking for a fun, educational, interactive and inspiring session getting to learn about and meet animals from around the world please do get in touch! We are fully insured, licensed, and inspected regularly to ensure our welfare practices are the highest standard.
However I'd like to discuss some small changes we are making going forward in regards to our birthday party bookings. From this month onwards, we will no longer be accepting birthday party bookings held in halls or venues, but we are still more than happy to attend a party held at your own home! This is not a decision that has been taken lightly, and we will of course honour any bookings that have already been made for venues so don't worry! But we won't be taking any more except for under very special circumstances.
The reason for this is to ensure the welfare of our animals because that is always our highest priority, and I find that the environment is just too noisy and unpredictable for me to continue doing this. I've been teaching for 18 years and hopefully anyone who has ever seen one of my shows can agree that the animals love being there and socialising with everyone, I've never once had an incident of an animal becoming stressed or hurt and I want to keep it that way. I absolutely LOVE coming to the birthday parties and I am SO grateful to everyone who has ever made a booking, but I find the ones held in people's homes so much more fulfilling. I don't do this for the money, I do this to share my passion and knowledge about nature while raising funds to continue my rescue work, and that doesn't really work in the venues where kids just want to run around and play.
I hope everyone understands and I'm sorry for any disappointment caused by this decision. But if you are interested in myself and the animals attending a party in your own home, and you are able to provide a calm and controlled environment, I would be more than happy to offer an unforgettable and interactive experience getting to meet and learn about the most incredible animals.
Thanks so much for reading, and for all of the bookings coming in recently, I'm so excited to see you all throughout 2025!
Sincerely,
Casey, and the Creatures.
