💔 It’s with a heavy heart I’m writing this 💔
Last Night/Early Hours we made the really tough decision to say goodnight to Going Young AKA Stande.
Having arrived from Malta 7 years ago, after a successful racing career and looking for retirement, this gangly massive beast arrived off the transporter. Since then he’s been an absolute love, a handful at times is fair to say and not the easiest to deal with.
He’s been poorly for a few months, but the last few weeks Kya and Jamie have worked closely with the vets trying to find a solution.
With his best buddy Rizzle in the field next door, me, Stocky (he hates horses but was cuddling him), Kya, Jamie and the vet made the tough decision to let him fly high.
Go chase Princess round in those fields in the sky 🕊️🕊️
Massive thank you to Kya and Jamie who have had Stande on loan and spoilt him absolutely rotten. I can’t thank you enough for the times I had to tell you stop spoiling him and that he didn’t need 50 different types of rugs 🤦🏽♀️🤣. You loved that boy so much and my heart goes out to you.
He was only 17 years old which makes this harder, but chatting with the vet, a potential aggressive cancer was at bay. He was loved by so many and apologies that I haven’t reached out directly to people, I’ve only just told Evie.
For anyone trying to get hold of me yesterday/today, apologies…I will come back to you tomorrow. This is the second horse this year that I’ve had to make the tough decision and I need some head space ❤️ anything urgent please message the other half James Stock ❤️
you were his first groom, apologies for not letting you know directly xx
