I got a beautiful card from the team at Maes Glas Veterinary Porthcawl after Helo’s passing. They’ve always taken incredible care of my dogs, and they continue to show unwavering compassion, when you lose them.

The decoration for the tree arrived just before Christmas. I had ordered it before Helo collapsed, and completely forgotten about it. It’s my favourite photo of them both at Christmas time.

And then there are the things that have kept me sane when grieving. I had been crafting for a little while before everything happened, and then I got the idea to make my tribute to my wonderful boy. A little Helo angel.

This is a beautiful tribute a friend had made and sent to me.

He was such a beautiful boy, and so gentle. He loved his Auntie Ems so much. She was one of the few people who got kisses other than me. Going to visit his Aunties Ems always got him excited. He couldn’t face-plant the back seat trying to jump in, fast enough.

I think she may have been just as heartbroken as me… just goes to show how loved he was.

It is with a very heavy heart that I must inform you all that my boy Helo, has crossed the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge.

He collapsed on Saturday, and blood work at the vet confirmed he was in a very bad way. Worse than I could have imagined.

He got to see some of his favourite people on Monday and Tuesday, with a long video call with another of his favourite people in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

His crossing Wednesday morning was quick, and he had his big sister M’ija, and me, by his side when he did.

The outpouring of love, grief, and heartfelt messages of condolences have been a little overwhelming, and I apologise, but I can’t respond to all individually. At least, not yet.

Run free my beautiful boy. Tell Nanny, Rufus, and Charlie who you are, and that you were the best of boys. M’ija and Mammy miss you terribly.

Until we meet again.

🥳Today is my Gotcha Day!🥳

8 years ago today, Mammy brought home the tiny, baby howler monkey that was a 12 week old me.

It hasn’t always been smooth sailing, Mammy said she nearly gave me away multiple times for being a poo monster, and various other puppy shenanigans (I did A LOT of singing as a puppy), but she stuck with me, and I’ve stuck by her side ever since 😊 she calls me her shadow, her Bubba, her skitterbrick, and her flufflebutt… and something about a chonky?? 🤷🏼‍♀️

My Mammy 💜 is my favourite person in the world… closely followed by MiniMe and Auntie Ems. M’ija’s alright too I guess 🫤

Anyway! Sending love to all my followers, and kisses for the special few (if you know, you know who you are)

I’m 8 today Helo fans! Mammy says I’m still her baby boy, protector, and flufflebutt 😊

Today has been all about love and fuss with Mammy. M’ija isn’t so great at the attention thing, unless it’s all on her… 🫤
