That Dog in the cartoon?
She’s not just a drawing.
She’s real…

Her owner couldn’t walk her in daylight..
She planned every walk around avoiding people, avoiding dogs, avoiding the embarrassment

She was shouted at in the park and Judged by strangers
She’d tried everything… Dog trainers, leads, collars, YouTube videos… nothing worked

And by the time she came to us? She was at her wit’s end

💙PUMBA💙
Pumba is a striking 2y.o French Bulldog who arrived with us as an unclaimed stray. He came into our care with his brother Timone who has already found a home.

Pumba is more confident than his brother, he just wants to be everyone's friend!

He is dog friendly but would need a calm, respectful dog and he does prefer females. He can also be rehomed as an only dog. He has not met cats. We are unable to cat test. He can be rehomed with children 12y.o and over.

Pumba is excellent to walk on the lead and enjoys a trip out in the car. He also loves playing with tennis balls and his football!! He has a lot more energy than his brother!!

Pumba is looking for a forever friend to share adventures and a comfy sofa with. He also comes with free ear plugs which will make his snoring bearable!!! 💙

This is why your dog is reactive…

Lead reactivity isn’t always what it looks like. It’s not always aggression…it’s often frustration, confusion, or past bad experiences. Here’s a few reasons your dog might be reacting:

👉 The lead removes choice
Your dog feels trapped and can’t move away, even when they’re asking for space. This builds stress with every walk.

👉 Frustration, not aggression
Dogs who love other dogs but never get to greet properly (used to greeting off lead) can start reacting out of sheer frustration.

👉 You’re missing the subtle signs
Lip licking, head turns, stiff body language…these are early stress signals that often get missed until it’s “too late.”

And let’s not forget it could be down to pain or health issues that can make any dog more reactive.

Getting a puppy can be daunting

You never know if you’re doing the right thing and sometimes you can be over confident and do the wrong things, reinforcing behaviours that you’re unknowingly encouraging 🥵

Things like 👇

Mouthing
Jumping up
Destructive behaviours
Excessive Barking
Over stimulation/ Excitement
Submissive urination

These are just some of things that are promoted unknowingly through puppyhood

Fast forward ⏩ 10 months and your 10kg puppy is now 40kg and that jumping has become a major issue!

Starting them earlier and gaining as much knowledge through training classes will help curb those issues and improve life at home for you and your puppy

Your dog will be less likely to cause issues on lead and will be far more responsive off lead 👌
