Even our cockerel looks impressed with the amazing donation Yvonne left us at The Farmyard Cafe 😮🐓❤️
A huge thank you, Yvonne, and to everyone who so kindly donates items for us to either use here at Hoofbeats or sell to help raise much-needed funds.
Every rug, piece of equipment and donated item really does help us, and we’re incredibly grateful for every single one. 🐴💚

Look at that innocent little face. 😇
Do not be fooled.
Woody is currently beating even the mini Shetlands when it comes to naughty antics! 🫣 Apparently electric fencing is merely a suggestion to him — he doesn’t bother going through it… he just calmly walks underneath it. 🤦‍♀️🤣
He is never where I leave him!
Tonight I went to find him and couldn’t see him anywhere. Primrose was completely calm, so I tried not to panic… and then, as if he hadn’t a care in the world, Woody casually strolls out of the woods… followed by Felix. 🤣🤣🤣
A quick check of the cameras showed that the little monkey had escaped at around midday, with Felix deciding shortly afterwards that this looked like a splendid idea and following him! 🫣
Once reunited with Primrose, I thought he’d be desperate to see Mum and have a suckle…
Nope. 😂
The one he seemed most excited to see was little old Sylvie! ❤️
He is brave, independent, adventurous and apparently completely convinced that rules do not apply to him.
At this rate I’m going to need stronger fencing, CCTV on every tree and a VERY good hair dye to cover the grey hairs he’s giving me! 🤣🤣🤣

Following the news of the fire at Tin Park, and after receiving lots of private messages, we thought we should post a little update.
Firstly, we would like to thank everyone who has messaged with concern for our horses. ❤️
Tin Park is home to a number of horses belonging to our volunteers, as well as horses connected with Hoofbeats, so we completely understand why people have been worried.
The fire was in the house, and we are incredibly relieved to say that all people and all horses that were in the stables are safely out.
Michael is still in hospital, and we are sending him our very best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. ❤️
Our love and thoughts are with everyone affected by what has happened.
We would also especially like to recognise the local farmers who were among the first on the scene and immediately pulled together to help. In frightening situations like this, seeing people rally around one another means more than words can say.

💙 FRANKIE — A GENUINE PROJECT FOR AN EXPERIENCED HOME 💙
Frankie is a beautiful gelding, approx 12hh. 8 years old, affectionate pony looking for a confident and experienced person to continue his education.
He is not a finished pony and needs someone calm, capable and patient who can help him build confidence in the world around him. Frankie can become anxious when he feels overwhelmed, particularly around unfamiliar people, dogs and busy surroundings. He needs carefully managed, positive experiences that teach him new situations are safe rather than frightening.
Interestingly, traffic itself doesn’t appear to bother him — he has passed tractors, buses and caravans without concern. It is often the more unexpected things that cause his anxiety to build, so his new person must be able to recognise the early signs and support him before he becomes overwhelmed.
Frankie would be best suited to a quiet, rural home with someone who enjoys bringing a pony on slowly and correctly. He has plenty of potential, but there are no shortcuts with him. His education must continue at his pace, with consistency, reassurance and clear boundaries.
He is friendly, loving and enjoys attention, but he does require equine company and thoughtful herd management.
Frankie is not suitable for a novice, nervous rider or somebody looking for a ready-made pony. He needs a knowledgeable person who will enjoy helping him gain confidence and showing him, through positive experiences, that the world he lives in isn’t such a scary place.

✨ Frankie – approximately 8 years old, 12hh gelding ✨

Frankie is a sweet, sensitive pony with plenty of potential, but he is now looking for a very specific, experienced home where he can feel safe and understood.

He is good for the farrier, dentist and physio, and will happily tie up on the yard. He long reins well and ha ofs been ridden both alone and in company. Frankie is generally very sensible around traffic and has calmly passed tractors, buses and caravans without concern.

His main difficulty is anxiety around people and busy surroundings. In a built-up village environment, his anxiety can gradually build during a ride or walk until he becomes overwhelmed. When worried, he may jump vertically, rush forward, become very tense or seek reassurance from the horse in front. He has never unseated his rider, but because his reactions can become unpredictable when his anxiety builds, he needs a calm, confident and experienced rider who will recognise the early signs and work with him in a calm and gentle manner, to build his confidence.

Frankie can react aggressively towards dogs running or zooming close to him, so he would not be suitable for a home with loose, excitable dogs around the horses.

We believe Frankie would be happiest with someone willing to rebuild his confidence slowly. He is not suitable for a novice, a busy livery yard environment or anyone wanting a pony they can simply get on and ride straight away.

With patience, consistency and the right environment, Frankie has the potential to become a lovely and rewarding partner.

💷 Forever-loan fee: £700 (one-off donation)

This donation goes directly towards Frankie’s ongoing care, rehabilitation, and the upkeep of other horses within Hoofbeats Equine Rehabilitation Sanctuary, helping us continue to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome equines in need. The fee is a one-off contribution and there are no ongoing loan charges.

Frankie remains the property of Hoofbeats Equine Rehabilitation Sanctuary and will only be placed in a carefully assessed forever home

Woody has been off exploring another corner of Woodfield today, taking in some new sights, smells and adventures. ❤️
Every day brings something new for this little lad, and he's growing in confidence with each tiny adventure.
Judging by those little hops and bounces... I think we might have a future showjumper in the making! 🤣🐴
He's certainly keeping us entertained... and proving that every fallen branch, tuft of grass and tiny mound is clearly there to be jumped! ❤️

Baler twine! 🎉 what a find! 🤣
Every farmer and equestrian knows there's no such thing as "just a bit of baler twine." It's the duct tape of the countryside - it fixes gates, holds fences together, repairs buckets, mends trailers... and apparently breeds in hedges!
