Buttercup
Born 9th June 2025
Filly
To make approx; 13hh

Some ponies are special from the very beginning… and Buttercup is definitely one of them. ❤️
As a yearling, she is everything you could hope for and more – calm, sensible, willing, incredibly kind, and so unbelievably confident. Nothing seems to faze her. She approaches every new experience with curiosity and a "can do" attitude that is far beyond her years.
She is a dream to handle, loves people, and is always keen to learn. In fact, we believe she is now ready to start going out in hand to see more of the world and continue building on the fantastic foundation she already has.
Watching this little girl grow has been an absolute privilege, and we genuinely think she has a very bright future ahead of her. Whether she's meeting new people, exploring new places, or simply being her wonderful self, Buttercup continues to amaze us every single day.
Some ponies are good. Some are great. And then every now and again, one comes along that is truly exceptional. ✨
Buttercup, we think you're going to be something very special indeed. 🐴💕

Do you remember Orphan Annie?
Annie's story began when she appeared at our gate all alone as a tiny foal. Despite our efforts to find her mum, we later discovered the heartbreaking truth that her mother had sadly died, leaving Annie orphaned and vulnerable.
Since then, Annie has been given a second chance thanks to the incredible care and dedication of her foster carer, Jayne. She has grown into a beautiful young pony and is looking better than ever. Her confidence is growing, she is gaining condition, and she has a wonderful personality.
However, Annie has one significant ongoing issue.
She is constantly lame.
We always knew Annie would never be a ridden pony due to how poorly put together she is physically, but our concern has never been whether she can be ridden. Our concern is whether she is comfortable and pain-free.
Jayne, who knows Annie better than anyone, is becoming increasingly concerned that Annie may be living with pain. Before we can continue her rehabilitation and make plans for her future, we need to understand exactly what is causing her lameness.
We would therefore like to raise £350 to cover a veterinary visit to find out whether Annie is in pain, what treatment options may be available, and what the kindest path forward is for her.
After everything Annie has been through, we owe it to her to get the answers she deserves.
If you would like to help Annie, no matter how small the donation, we would be incredibly grateful. Every penny will go directly towards her veterinary assessment.
Thank you for supporting this special little girl and helping us give her the best possible future. ❤️🐴

Firstly, I would like to sincerely apologise to everyone who has been trying to contact us recently.
Unfortunately, I have been dealing with major issues after my phone was hacked, which resulted in me losing access to several of our accounts for a period of time. This has meant that many messages, enquiries and notifications have gone unseen, and for that I am truly sorry.
I am now back in control of the accounts and will be working hard over the coming days to get everything up to date and respond to as many people as possible.
A special apology goes to those who have contacted us regarding rehoming and loan enquiries. If you are still looking for a home for a horse or pony, or are still interested in offering a home, please could you resend your message so I can make sure it reaches me.
Thank you all for your patience, understanding and continued support while I get everything back on track.

Primrose 🌿
There’s something a bit magical about seeing her like this… quietly wandering through the trees at Woodfield, dappled sunlight catching that mane and those kind, gentle eyes taking everything in.
And this year, it feels even more special… because Primrose is expecting, with her little one due around June 💛
After everything she’s been through, this is what it’s all about. Peace. Space. Safety. A place where she can just be a horse… and soon, a mum all over again.
She’s found her favourite little spot up in the woods, where the ground is soft, the breeze is gentle, and she can just stand and watch the world go by… growing her tiny secret.
Moments like this remind us why we do what we do 🌼

Felix is looking for his human 💛
Not a rider… not a job…
Just his person.
Felix absolutely loves being around people. He’s happiest hanging out with his two-legged friends, soaking up attention, learning, and just being part of your day.
At just 3 years old, he’s still a baby really.
He’s not ready to be ridden yet, but he is ready to start learning about the world with someone patient and kind by his side.
This is such a special opportunity for someone…
To build a bond from the beginning, to grow together, and to shape him into whatever he’s meant to become.
He’s looking for: ✨ A knowledgeable, kind home
✨ Someone who enjoys groundwork and building a connection
✨ A person who wants a genuine friendship, not just a ridden horse
Filex doesn’t want the world…
He just wants you.
If you think you could be his human, please message us to chat more 💬

A little update about beautiful Primrose…
Some of you may remember that when Primrose arrived with us she was already caring for her little foal, Buttercup. Over the past couple of weeks we noticed something wasn’t quite right, she had started trying to gently wean Buttercup much earlier than we expected.
So the vet took bloods and the results are back … and they confirmed that Primrose is pregnant again.
It’s not the news we were hoping for. Her body has already been through so much, and she really deserved time to recover and simply be a mum to Buttercup.
However, now that we know, we can make sure she gets the very best care and support over the coming months. Based on what we know about her history, we estimate that she could be due around mid to late June.
For now she is bright, happy and enjoying life with her friends, and of course little Buttercup is never far away. 💛
Please keep Primrose and her unborn baby in your thoughts as we help her through the pregnancy.
And if you’d like to support Primrose and the sanctuary horses, it truly does make a huge difference to them.
Thank you for always being part of their journey. 🐴

Millie and Little Orphan Annie are absolutely loving the pampering and one-to-one attention they’re getting with Jayne and the girls 🥰
Lots of lovely walks around the countryside, extra cuddles, and Annie is starting to learn all about having her feet picked up.
They’re both really enjoying their little holiday and soaking up every minute of it 💕

Poor little Buttercup had a visit from the vet this week after managing to damage her eye out in the field 😔
She’s now on eye drops and lots of extra TLC, and thankfully the vet is hopeful there will be no lasting effects 🙏 We’re keeping everything crossed and making sure she’s as comfortable as possible.
As you all know, unexpected vet visits always put extra pressure on the sanctuary, especially after such a hard winter. If anyone would like to help towards Buttercup’s treatment and ongoing care, we would be incredibly grateful — but please never feel any pressure 💛

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person who has donated to the sanctuary.
This winter has been relentless mud, rain, wind, and endless challenges, but your kindness has quite literally kept us going. Because of you, the ponies have stayed fed, safe, warm, and cared for when it mattered most.
Every donation, message, share, and word of encouragement has meant more than we can ever put into words. On the hardest days, you reminded us why we do this.
We’re finally seeing a few hours of sunshine ☀️ and it feels like maybe… just maybe… the end is in sight. Whatever comes next, please know we couldn’t have got through this without you.
Thank you for standing by us and believing in the sanctuary and the ponies we promised to care for, for life. 💚🐴

FOR SALE:
Caravan with endless potential 🫣

Much-loved caravan offered for sale due to downsizing (by the weather).
Boasting:
✨ Fully open-plan design
✨ Abundant natural light
✨ Strong connection with nature
✨ Opportunity to really “make it your own.
Yes, she’s had a bit of a winter refresh, but with vision, enthusiasm and possibly a small building firm, she could absolutely be done up.
Selling to raise much-needed funds for the sanctuary — because the horses politely declined to give up their hay.
