This is a post I didn’t really want to make but feel I have to.
As many of you know whether you have previously brought a puppy from myself or are about to have one of my current pups
I take lots of time to make sure I place my puppies into the right homes . I enjoy the visiting puppy owners whether it’s a first time visit to meet the pups and myself or your popping back again for another look ( something I offer to local people )
I enjoy chatting about my dogs and many years of dog breeding , pony breeding , showing etc
I breed my dogs responsibly & ethically I health test all my dogs applicable to the breed standards set out by both kennel club and breed councils
All paperwork is here to see
Over this last few days I have been met with what I can only describe as the most idiotic people ever
I don’t think I have ever in all my years breeding encountered such time-wasters
Some have contacted myself through this page whilst others have come from my published advert and on that they appear to hide behind fake names and profiles or shall we say forget and sign there messages with a different name😆
I have had 3 lots of people who have all chosen to view the last puppies . People who have turned up and once here give a complete different story to the “ committed we 100% have thought about a puppy “ on the inital phone call or messages
People wanting to buy puppies on behalf of family members but when it comes down to it the family member isn’t fully on board or worse still knows nothing about it. I don’t allow puppies to be brought as surprise gifts
Let’s get a few things straight
The price off my puppies is set out before you even arrange to view
The price is “ non negotiable “
I don’t do an end of season sale or buy one get one free neither do I offer payment plans
If you cannot afford the purchase price I doubt you can afford to look after your puppy correctly
I am licensed by my local authority I have been very proud to hold my higher standards 5 star status since being the first of only 2 breeders in my area to be awarded this in 2018 when the Animal activities licence regulations changed.
Being licensed does “ NOT” make you a puppy farm it shows you are doing things correctly and all above board. As any licensed breeder will tell you the paperwork we have to keep and produce at anytime is unbelievable. We have to declare all income to the HMRC unlike unlicensed breeders who normally ask for cash and offering no traceable insurance or don’t put microchips into there own name as they are doing it all on the quiet.
Yes my puppies all leave with a contract of sale
But this isn’t so as one person asked “ if she gets fed up after a few weeks can she return the puppy.
Yes you can return but you won’t be getting any refund
I like all puppy viewings to ideally be done in person as this way potential buyers can see my set up and all my dogs you see how and where they are born & raised and we meet face to face ,
No I unfortunately don’t live in a mansion in the country with sprawling fields and ponies in the back garden , I live in a pretty ordinary cottage style house a few miles from the city centre
( I used to be lucky enough to have ponies in my back garden a few years ago 😊
Contrary to popular belief I’m not “ minted” from breeding dogs if I was I wouldn’t be driving 1000s miles every month running a pet relocation business. The costs of breeding and rearing a well rounded litter of happy healthy puppies is now extensive then add in vets microchipping plus this time the sad loss of one of my own girls. Registrations have gone up per puppy. Advertising costs , the list goes on not to mention the unpaid time of rearing a litter the late nights early mornings the cleaning and making sure your home looks and smells like a house not a kennel
I am happy to offer video calls should you live hours away but still like people to make an effort to view in person so when I get a message 2 hours before your due to view saying “ sorry my husband is too tired and cannot be bothered to drive down ( 1.5 hours away) then I cannot be bothered to sell you one of my pups
I understand things happen in life and without warning but some of the stories and excuses I have had for no shows or deciding you cannot have a puppy really are an absolute joke.
Please do your homework . Puppies need time patience and cost money not just to buy but to raise and train . They are a long term commitment
Possibly anywhere from 10-14 years maybe longer. I am happy to hold a week or so longer for no extra charge to honour work and family / holiday commitments
Please make sure you have a conversation with everyone in your family about responsibility of owning a puppy , walking , feeding , training
Holidays away etc
I don’t care who you need to speak to even if you have to ask God what he thinks
Just be sure to do all of this before wasting my time.
As it stands I have just the 1 male show type cocker and 1 little cavalier boy
Although I will run on the cavalier boy longer as he is very tiny and may benefit from a few extra weeks with myself should I feel he needs it
The cocker boy will be ready to leave from the 28th September
Sorry for the long winded rant but I feel it needs to be said . I have a busy week ahead with puppies vets and fitting in a couple of work jobs and don’t want another week like I have just had
I must thank all my lovely people who have already reserved your puppies you have all been amazing and just what I hope for when placing my pups.
