🚧 Roadworks Update 🐾

Just a quick heads-up for anyone visiting us over the coming days!

There are currently roadworks taking place nearby, and you may see “Road Closed” signs before reaching us. Don’t worry! You can still access the field, so please feel free to continue past the signs to reach us ☺️

However, access coming UP Pump Hill will be unavailable at certain times while work is being carried out on Church Road. This will be for approximately 4 weeks, where different sections of the road will be closed at different times for resurfacing.

We recommend allowing extra time for your journey and checking your route before setting off if possible.

🐾 We’ve got a few unexpected “excavation projects” appearing in the shelter…

While some dogs clearly fancy themselves as professional diggers, these holes can quickly become a trip hazard for both dogs and humans!

If your pup enjoys a bit of landscaping, please keep an eye on them and stop any digging before they start 🙏🏻

We work hard to keep the space safe and enjoyable for everyone, so we really appreciate your help with this 💚

A morning plea 🌅

Please please please pick up after your pups!

We've had a message to say there's poo left behind by the shelter but unfortunately we're not back until later today, so can't clear it in-between visits.

We want everyone to be able to enjoy Wembury Walkies safely - it's not just dogs that use our field!

Families visit as a safe place for their dogs and young children to run freely, as well as individuals with disabilities who use our field as our car park is only a short distance from the shelter & benches.

Dogs mess stops us being as accessible, and is so easily prevented! We know pups will run off to explore, but please keep a close eye on them while using our field 👀

Thanks to our wonderful visitors who do this every time, we appreciate you 🫶🏻

🚨 Important Safety Notice - Please Read 🚨

We’ve had a message today letting us know that dog food & dog treats have been left in the field...

Unfortunately, this can be extremely dangerous!

Many dogs have allergies, sensitivities, medical conditions, or special diets. Sometimes, even a small amount of unfamiliar food can lead to poorly pups, emergency vet visits, and unexpected vet bills.

For this reason, we need to be absolutely clear:

❌ No food is to be left in the field ❌

This includes dog treats and human food. You're welcome to give treats, but please make sure any leftovers are taken away!

Wembury Walkies is designed to be a safe, secure & stress-free space for all dogs. Keeping the field completely clear of food is essential to protecting every dog that visits.

If you do spot any food left behind, please call us so we can remove it quickly!
