We understand bringing your cat to the vets can be stressful for both you and the cat so here are our top tips for minimising that anxiety:
1) Carrier train your cat, have it out all the time and as a safe space they normally retreat to as this will make it less daunting for them.
2) Invest in a carrier that you can take the top off - this allow easier access and your cat can sometimes be examined sat in the bottom half so they don’t have to be lifted out if they won’t walk out.
3) Place your cat carrier in the footwell of the back seat as this is the most stable place in the car.
4) Use Feliway spray (pheromone) to spray the car and carrier. Do this at least 20 minutes before putting your cat in that environment to allow the alcohol smell from the spray to evaporate.
5) Bring a towel from home to cover the carrier ( also sprayed in Feliway) as this will allow them the feeling they can hide but with some comforting scents.
6) Try bringing some of your cats favourite treats with you.
7) Always sit in our cat waiting area and place the carrier on the shelves provided so the cats can’t see each other and any dogs. If you are early or the waiting room is busy, let reception know if you wish to wait in the car as it may be less stressful for your cat.

We hope these tips help! 🐾

🐾🎉 Another Puppy Party! 🎉🐾

We’ve had another puppy party at our Farlington branch. 🎉

These sessions are always such a joy! The puppies get to socialise in a safe, controlled environment while having lots of fun, and owners get the chance to pick up some really useful tips and advice on puppy care. From toilet training and socialisation to nutrition and behaviour, there’s always something new to learn.

Not only are the parties informative, but they’re also a fantastic opportunity to ask questions, meet fellow puppy owners, and watch your pups make new friends. 🥰🐾

If you’re interested in joining our next one, give us a call if your puppy has had their second vaccination and be under 16 weeks old (this age may be lower for extra-large breeds so we can match them to a suitable group). We’d love to see you there!

Who remembers Shelby, Vet Fiona’s Puppy who came in and got her picture with our first vet visit board. 🐾🐕‍🦺

Shelby was in for her vaccinations that visit. As you can see in the video clip, Shelby was far too distracted by her tasty treats to even notice her injection! 🍪 💉 We all know how important those first few vet visits can be, which is why we always try our best to make them a positive and stress-free experience for your pet.

If your pet ever feels a little anxious about coming to the vets, let us know — we’ll work with you to make their visit as calm, comfortable, and positive as possible 💕

Lap Cat or Explorer?🐾🐈

Some cats are total homebodies — happiest curled up in a sunny spot or snuggled on your lap. Others have a real sense of adventure and love to wander.

Have you ever used a tracker to see where your cat goes when they’re out exploring? 🌍🐾

We’d love to hear your stories — whether you discovered a secret snooze spot, realised they’ve been popping round to the neighbours, or confirmed they really do nap all day!

Share a photo of your cat below and let us know…
Are they a lap-lover or a little explorer? 🛋️🌿
