Snow fun at Oldtown ❄️ ⛄️

Treadmill has been on all day long 😅 keeping the horses exercised. Thankfully we have still got all the horses out, wadeing knee deep in the snow, so they can stretch their legs. Buttons been found blending into the snow! Gerald busy on the tractor! All hands on deck to dig out the sawdust bay.

Thanks to our wonderful staff for battling the elements to get in to work every morning! 👏🏻 Amber, Grace, Heidi and Shannon. 🤩🙌🏻

I think this is the most snow we have had since Oldtown Equine opened in 2018.

Our Rehabilitation crew, updates and new arrivals.

Pic 1-3 This handsome chap is doing well after his kissing spine surgery. Treadmill hill climbs for 10 mins each morning and his owner is doing in hand exercises in the evening. He will hopefully start his trot work soon. 🧡

Pic 4-6 This golden girl is our latest arrival. She is here to bring back up to full fitness after some front feet issues. With her beautiful pink shoes on, she has started on the treadmill and will build up to hacking and arena work over the next few weeks. 💛

Pic 7-8 This lovely lady has a fractured splint bone and is half way through her box rest period, but thankfully for her she can do her box rest during the day out in our small sand turnout pens, looking forward to seeing this girl back doing what she loves. 🤎🤍

We are lucky to have such great physios, vets and farriers in our area to aid the rehabilitation process. We enjoy being a small part in the process of bringing these horses back to fitness after injury thanks to their committed owners. 🤩🙌🏻

Ryan Devoucoux Northern is coming to Oldtown on Tuesday 14th Oct. If you would like a saddle check or a saddle fitting then you’re welcome to come and use the arena/stable.

Sessions are FOC and even if you would just like to have a ride in the saddles to get a feel for them, then start saving your pennies for next year then please come along - no pressure. 💚

I have the new Enara split tree event saddles so please just ask if you would ever like to ride in one of mine while you’re at Oldtown for a training session.

If you are interested but the date doesn’t suit you please let me know and I can feed this back to Ryan for future dates.

This handsome lad has done two weeks box rest here at Oldtown after kissing spine surgery. Today he got out into a small grass turnout paddock and put his head straight down happy as Larry! He’s been a model Rehab patient so far.
After two weeks of small Paddock turnout he will start his walk work on our treadmill. 🏋🏻‍♂️
