**** Grooming Changes ****

To all my customers, I'm sorry to have to post this update but unfortunately I am having to reduce my workdays and workload due to ongoing health issues.

I will be reducing to a 3 day week and I will open the salon on a Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

I will also be reducing the number of dogs that I will be grooming, and each dog will be assessed on an individual basis. If I feel that I can no longer groom your dog I will contact you directly over the coming days.

I am sorry that I am having to make these changes but I have to look after my health.

Thank you, Pat

I am aiming to run 50km in April to raise funds for Alzheimer's Research UK. This is a life limiting disease that is very close to my heart and I'm doing everything I can to help to raise funds to wipe out this horrendous disease. If you can donate to my cause I would be very grateful x

Good afternoon to all my customers and friends,

As you know I usually have a couple of raffles throughout the year to raise funds our local animal charities.

Today I am again asking for your help and support. I would like to ask if you would be able to help out and donate to help the humanitarian crisis that is occurring in Ukraine.

Anything that you can donate will help to support refugees forming on the borders of Ukraine.

My wish list:

Warm clothes, gloves, scarves and hats to fit - Adult, Children and Babies.

Sanitary products and Nappies various sizes

Non perishable food items, cup a soups, protein bars etc

Baby milk formula.

Calpol, antiseptic cream / wipes

Dry pet food, no tins or fresh food

Anything you feel that could be suitable and useful but that will also survive the journey across Europe would be great.

The Ukranian Church in Peterborough is acting as a centralised drop off point, and I plan to make a trip over to them on Wednesday 9th March.

Anything that you can donate will be greatly appreciated,

Thank you in advance

Pat

LOST DOG - ORTON SOUTHGATE.
GERMAN SHEPHERD - CYRIL

You may be aware of the above which has been posted on various social media pages.

Firstly I would like to say how devastated and saddened I am that this occurred whilst Cyril was in my care. My thoughts are with Cyril and his family at this time, and I hope that he is found quickly.

I am the owner of Short Bark and Sides Grooming. It has been suggested that All About Your Dog Daycare is in some way responsible for this. I am self employed and rent a room from All About Your Dog Daycare. Other than sharing a building I am in no way affiliated with them.

On Saturday, I accepted Cyril for grooming. The front door of the building was closed but unlocked. I brought Cyril in and locked the internal door and then moved into the salon closing and locking my wooden gate. I secured Cyril onto the table and removed his harness.

As I finished the groom my partner had entered the building and I spoke to him and gave him a few treats to offer to Cyril, which Cyril took and ate. I let Cyril out of the salon so that he was able to wander around the building, which he did and investigated the dog kitchen, staff kitchen and office. I went to the dog kitchen to get some more treats and heard a door click, I couldn't see Cyril so I checked the rooms he had been in. He was not in the building. My partner went to the internal door and realised that he had not locked it upon entering the building.

He saw Cyril outside and called to me. We went out with treats and I whistled to Cyril, he came forward but I could not tempt him with the treats. He wasn't close enough for me to catch him, although I tried.

He then moved away from us onto Bakewell Road. My partner got the car and we went in the same direction, and then walked around the area looking for Cyril. I contacted the emergency services immediately and reported the incident. I tried to contact the dog warden without success so I called the Council emergency number who took a report for the warden, and I called the owner.

My partner continued to search for several hours that day and I joined him once I had been home to collect torches and dog food. We searched until late evening and informed the owner as to where we had searched.

I informed the owner of the areas we would cover and we also searched all day on Sunday. My partner spotted Cyril 40 yards away in Morbourne and offered treats but again Cyril evaded capture. We have searched alongside the owner, spoken via telephone and text throughout this time.

As dog lovers my partner and I are very distraught by this incident and the ongoing stress and anxiety it is causing to Cyril's family.

We hope Cyril is found very soon.

Soon it will be Halloween 🎃, and you might be considering dressing up your pet. It may seem harmless and a bit of fun, but unfortunately, many owners do not know that fun is often at their pet's expense. As owners, we love and protect our pets, but dressing them up for human entertainment isn't kind or respectful.

Make sure you and your four legged friends have a fun, safe and happy Halloween. Here are a few things to consider before dressing your pet up 🐾
