Welcome to merrylegs charitable trust, we are a animal charity based in Whittlesey near Peterborough. We have been rescuing and homing animals at our shelter for over 20 years soley funded by Oakdale Veterinary Centre in Stanground. Providing veterinary treatment, feed, water, shelter and love for all those animals that need it. Currently at the shelter we have

29 Dogs
136 C

ats
9 rabbits
2 Guinea pigs
5 Pigs
7 terrapins
5 Cattle
6 Goats
1 African grey parrot
1 Amazon Blue
1 Goffins Cockatoo
Small aivary birds
5 Ferrets
Lots of chickens and ducks

All these animals have needed a home through no fault of their own. Some have veterinary costs which are too high for owners to pay so were going to be put to sleep, we have ponies that were destined for tiger food, and stray cats, to list a few. Merrylegs will not see a healthy animal put to sleep and will do our best to nurse back to health any animal we can. Please see the rest of out page for our recent rescue stories,

Merrylegs charitable trust will be running fund raising events starting in the summer 2014 to raise money to update our shelters these will include

Horse awareness events
Have a go shows
Own a pony days
Ladies coffee morning
To name a few

If you are looking for a very loving happy full of fun companion this little chap is the boy you’re looking for !! Unique and beautful handsome little boy isnt he! He is around 18 months old and another poor frenchie who found himself on the pts list imminently!! Under initial assessment with me super super cuddly already doing the typical paw pull your hand in for belly rubs thing!loves other dogs just a bit scared of the bigger bouncy ones so keep that in mind as I don’t want him feeling worried ,been out and about around my cats showed no interest in them tho when they ran playing he thought he would join in the fun !no nasty ness but again keep this in mind , yet to find himself a name bless him as he only arrived yesterday ! Amazing little dude I can see this already !! Has met people he didn’t know at all and was hey you your cool let’s hang out and be friends with no hesitation! !! He will be having his man op next week or maybe even this week !!look at that face !! Been good about having his face cleaned etc just that’s staining now but sure even they will sort over time ,still a little cracker tho !

Our beautiful Ruby had a day out today at the Park Farm Open day !she really is a little star to take out loving everyone she meets !! Strutting her stuff in her UV vest proudly and she got to hang out with her Auntie Laura!! Ooh and there were burgers and sausages and ice cream and endless cuddles what more can a girl want!! ❤️❤️

Soooo as suspected from an early time this absolutely beautiful girl has toddles off to new beginnings with lovely vet nurse Claire and her amazing Emily Fuller !this little lady has now grabbed herself the most amazing lively new big little family she could wish for ! Along with new canine brothers and sisters including Javier(known to u all as j-junior ) and she has been spayed and also has herself a new nose/airway to enable her to breathe much much better !what a difference ! Thanks so much all of you ,you have gotten yourself a little treasure !!thanks also Sunnyside Veterinary Clinic for the amazing care and dedication and respect you are showing our rescues (and me) time and time again ! Vet Christina we feel safe in your hands !!
