2yo gelding imported from breeder in Ireland as a weanling. Only looking for new 🏡 as overstocked again, we just don’t have the time at the moment to do him justice. He was 🏡 and we kept him for 3 months but due to sad and unfortunate circumstances unrelated to Finn he’s back on the market. Beautiful expressive uphill paces. He’d turn his hoof to anything but he’d be particularly suited to dressage/showing due to his natural rhythm and uphill paces. Turns in and out like a dream, ties up, stands, picks up all feet,, wormed, vax, passport and microchipped, travels alone and in company. Been out showing and stood himself fine after classes. Another Irish Draught and Irish Draught Sports Horse Championship for super star Elf at Doune and Dunblane Show yesterday. This is the second year on the bounce they’ve won Rosemary Browns Rose Bowl. Laighlands Glenfiddich home bred, home produced and brilliantly ran out by our dad. No ridden class for us as she’s not been sat on for a couple of weeks and I didn’t think it was fair on me, her or the judge. A wee change for Alan running Rocco, winning his class, qualifying for the Irish Draught young stock challenge at the GB breed show for 2025. Was great to see the ID and sports horse classes well supported. Three very handsome boys , one gorgeous girl, two mums, and a very proud daughter and partner as always 🦄 xx

Laighlands Sweet Afton, perfect girl, perfect showing record and a very proud joint breeder and daughter… as always 🧡 well done dad, you ran her out beautifully xx
There’s actually so many other perfects… my mum for sorting out all the showing clothes, organising my dad and me in the 24 hour’s at least before a show day. Ironing, laying away, cleaning shoes and ringside support. My partner Alan for all the day to day help he gives me and for asking how bloody much did those bloody horses cost us today 🫣 which is normally A LOT. Our blacksmith, Neil who is patient and kind. Even with elf who is an absolute idiot mostly ALL of the time and our local feed store McCashes who are always around to give advice and support. All of our horsy friends, Pauline and Lesley I think are our biggest support outwith our family and the people who put on these agricultural shows. It can’t be easy. It takes a whole village 🦄 xx

Our aim is to produce an Irish Draught Horse true to type, with movement, athletic ability and temperament for which they are famous.

Our show record at county level both north and south of the border and our consistent success at the national breed show, winning the yearling c**t class four years out of five, confirms this.

The Irish Draught Horse is renowned for its ability, endurance and temperament and is the main stay of the Irish Sports Horse and these qualities are at the forefront of our breeding programme.

We always have broken and unbroken stock for sale. This is not by any means a business for us, we breed horses for other people to enjoy as much as we do.

Yearling gelding imported from breeder in Ireland at the beginning of the year. Only looking for new 🏡 as overstocked again. Beautiful expressive uphill paces. He’s a serious small hunter in the making and that’s what we’d be producing him as if he was staying. He’d turn his hoof to anything but he’d be particularly suited to dressage due to his natural rhythm in all paces. She’s changed so much, but not so much really. Irish Draught Champion New Deer show as a 3yo, 9 years ago today and she hasn’t stopped since 🍀 they broke the mould when you were made Elf, mostly for the good, sometimes more frustratingly not but I never stop smiling when I’m around you 🙃

Home bred Laighlands Sweet Afton. First 1, 2 and 3yo Hunter, in hand hunter champion, then overall Hunter Champion at the weekend. I’m not really a big believer in hanging around with young horses for overall supremes but it wasn’t a warm day and we only had a couple of hours to wait and it was well worth it. Reserve supreme of 12 sections at 2 years old, and a massive cheer from the ringside. This filly has serious affiliated heavy weight show horse potential. Qualified youngstock IDHS GB youngstock challenge first time out as a yearling and two year old . She has the price tag to match her potential at 10K. Unblemished, well handled and open to any vet. Dam line goes back to Blackthorn. Great great grand dam was highly sought after in USA and grand dam was overall supreme of show just after we bought her. Second generation pure bred laighlands horse, one of many many champions. She comes from highly regarded and selected dam lines 🍀 xx
