***Update on bird flu***
A housing order will be put in place across Cumbria from midnight tomorrow.

⚠️⚠️ From midnight on April 7, keepers in Cumbria, County Durham, Northumberland and Tyneside must house their birds.

This extension is in addition to those housing measures already in place, and follows the 'increasing number of bird flu cases in the north of England'. πŸš¨πŸ”

"Bird keepers are urged to stay alert for any signs of disease, maintain strict biosecurity practices, and report any suspected cases of disease immediately to the Animal and Plant Health Agency."

Spring is in the air this week! Our vets have been keeping busy delivering lambs and calves, and Tamsin certainly had her hands full with this lovely bunch. After a little rearrangement of legs, she safely brought 4 lambs into the world - just in time for the sunshine β˜€οΈ with mum looking proud of her work over the past 5 months of pregnancy.

This little man was born with contracted tendons in his front legs, so he was struggling to straighten them to stand and walk.

Vets Eleanor and Annabel applied a splint to each leg to encourage those tight tendons to lengthen. After a quick shot of pain relief he was back with his mum. We think he rather suits red!

Just a small reminder about our Christmas Farmer meeting this Thursday, all large animal clients invited.

Katy at The Gavel at Penrith Auction Mart will be putting on a festive spread, which will be fantastic, as usual!

The meeting is kindly sponsored by Norbrook and MSD.

There will be some light learning, including information about some exciting new products, followed by a quiz and raffle, in aid of RABI.

All staff and family members welcome, phone the girls in the office to book!
