Do you know that dogs don't see in colour like we do?
Photo on the left is what we see.
Photo on the right is what the dog sees.
Very different colours and tones.

If anyone is interested in dog body language this book is a nice wee guide. At £3 its a bargain!

Be aware of dog's that have a yellow bandana, harness, collar and/or lead.
These dogs need space and patience. They maybe anxious or reactive.
If you see them, put your dog on a lead, don't try to approach or pat them.
These dogs and their owners are trying to navigate their environment.

It's that time of the year.
Sheep are lambing.
Keep your dog on the lead if anywhere near livestock.
The effects of sheep worrying are devastating.

Emergency stops ❗️
An important behaviour to teach your dog.
Stop them if they are running towards a road, a horse, bike, dog on a lead or a small child.
We have started to practice emergency stops at my beginners class.
Videos of how this can look with practice and adding distance.

Do you think your dog is defiant- they are probably overwhelmed.
Do you think your dog is aggressive- they are probably scared.
Do you think your dog is impulsive- they are probably bored.
Do you think your dog is shy - they are probably cautious.

Try to look behind the behaviour.
If your dog is experiencing big feelings, we can help them.
We can change their emotional state, take the stress away, turn the negative emotions into positive ones.
If you need help with your dog, reach out to an accredited trainer or join training classes.
