We are very sad to confirm that our shop in Lydney is now permanently closed. A huge thank you to all our supporters for your donations over the years and for the words of encouragement so many people have expressed. Please be assured that the Branch, the cat assisting side of things, is still active and we will continue to help as many cats as possible while we can. We are however in serious and urgent need of more volunteers to take an active role. Fosterers in particular would be especially welcome but anyone who is willing to contribute their services on a day to day basis would receive a warm welcome. 16/6/23 Very good news, long awaited! We are delighted to let you know that our shop reopened its door on Tuesday this week and we are up and running again after the long closure. We appreciate it’s been a frustrating experience for many of you - and us! - but we are really looking forward to welcoming you all back. We have lots of fresh new stock in to tempt you and will be welcoming your generous donations again. It’s always as well to give the shop a ring on 01594 841848 to check that we can accept your donations as space is very limited in the stock room. Do call by soon to say hello.

19/10/22 Unfortunately our shop in Lydney is closed and will remain closed for the foreseeable future. This is because of staff illness and we will re open as soon as possible. Please do not leave donations at either the front or the back doors as they will not be taken in and will be damaged by the weather. Sadly we need to ask you to take your kind donations to another charity for the moment.

5th August : Come and see us! We are still open and ready to welcome you despite the roadworks! We have lots of good bargains in the shop but, as always, would welcome some more stock. We would be particularly happy to receive any unwanted clothes, hand bags and shoes that you no longe4 need.
PLEASE do not dump things at the back of the shop. We are very sad to report that we had a generous gift of a lot of books dumped at the back of the shop which we estimate could have raised around £250 - £300 for the cats but they got a good soaking in a rainstorm and are now only fit for recycling. What a sad waste especially as we could really have done with the sales money in these difficult times.

Can you help me out? My name is Mittens and I’m looking for a new home so I am currently living in a CP a pen. I have lots of toys but I’d really like a good book to read. Kelly tells me the shop is very short of fiction at the moment so we are hoping some of you kind viewers will call in to donate some so that everyone who is stuck indoors can have a nice story to read. In the meantime, I’ll have to content myself with another little doze in the sunshine. Life is hard!
PS Kelly says they are also looking for handbags and bric-à-brac too.

Got your Christmas cards yet? Checked out all the goodies at our shop? Get down there soon as the shop will be closed from 6th November until 15th November so that our hard working manager can have a break. She hasn’t had one since she joined us so this is a very well earned holiday and well overdue. The shop will be open again at the normal times from Tuesday, 16th November.

Now the temperatures are dropping would welcome donations of autumn and winter clothes if you are having a sort out. If you aren’t going to wear it again, please pass it on to us so someone else can benefit from it! And the cats will be grateful for both the contribution of the garment and for the money we raise from it! All good! And you will have space in your wardrobe to treat yourself to something new! Still got unwanted gifts you were given last year for Christmas? Or perhaps for a birthday? There are rumours that gifts are going to be in short supply this year so, if you can provide our Christmas gift table with your unwanted presents, our shop and the cats and local people will all be able to benefit from your generosity. We need them NOW though, not on December 24th so please have a look through your cupboards and see what you can find surplus to your own requirements. Very many thanks in advance.

HELPING HANDS URGENTLY NEEDED. Ever tried your hand at retail work? It’s hard work and you’ll be kept busy but great fun and you meet lots of interesting people! We have vacancies for volunteers on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings when the shift runs from 9.30am until 1pm. Also Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 1pm until 4pm. If you could help us out with one or more of these half days, pop in to see us or give Kelly a ring on 01594 841848. NB all these are volunteer vacancies so sadly no pay but an enjoyable way of contributing to helping cats in the Forest area.

Can anyone spare a round or oval small table, approx 600mm (2’ft) diameter and about the same in height? We are planning to create a corner for craft items as we have some in stock and nowhere convenient to display them. Did you know we are now stocking DK wool at £1.69 per ball and Baby wool at £1.99 per ball. Lots of pretty colours! Come and see!
