Hey all,

We thought we would share with you guys some of the natural treatments on offer for those of you with dogs who have hip and joint issues, or are older.

Glucosamine is a great place to start. As our dogs age, they produce less glucosamine which causes joint wear and tear, arthritis, or even just stiffness when standing. Glucosamine supplements aid cartilage repair, lessen stiffness and maintain fluid mobility. Glucosamine works best when paired with chondroitin and green lipped mussel.

Green Lipped Mussel is a natural anti-inflammatory that improves mobility in the joints, fights severe inflammation and joint pain and slows cartilage break down.

Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory, so eases joint pain and stiffness. This needs to be paired with black pepper to activate in the stomach.

CBD oil can aid joint pain in dogs, especially those with osteoarthritis.

Did you know there are ways to naturally worm your dogs at home 🀫

Natural hairy treats are a great, tasty way your dog can be wormed. As the chew passes through your dogs digestive tract, the hairs physically brush through their intestines which dislodges worms and eggs. The roughage from the hair also helps to firm stools and acts like a natural dental floss.

Diatomaceous earth powder can also be used. Under a microscope, DE power has minute shards that works by lacerating the parasites protective coating and absorbing it's oils and fats. This causes them to dehydrate and die. The dead parasite will then naturally pass through your dogs stool.

Hey guys,

As we reach the holiday season we wanted to let you know there's options for your raw fed dogs whilst on holiday. One if the biggest questions we're asked this time of year is 'we're going on holiday but there's no freezer space for our dogs food, what can we feed them?' Some of the options are:

- Freeze dried raw. This offers all of the nutritional benefits of raw food but is more convienent for travelling as it has a long shelf life and does not require freezing.

- Natures Menu Raw Boost kibble is a high protein kibble containing raw meat. This will provide your dog with all the nutritional benefits of raw feeding with the handy benefit of being able to be stored like regular kibble.

- Healthy Mutts gourmet sausages are an 80-10-10 complete food that is packaged in a chub and is able to be stored in the cupboard instead of the freezer.

Hey guys,

Coming into the summer we just want to remind you all that, just like us, your furbabies are susceptible to UV rays meaning they can burn in the sun. This can cause painful red skin and increase their risk of developing skin cancer. The areas most like to burn are areas where there is less fur such as their nose, tips of their ears, eyelids & lips, belly & groin, and inner thighs and armpits. To help combat this, you can apply dog safe sunscreen, but never apply human sunscreen as it contains zinc oxide and salicylates which are highly toxic to dogs. Ask a member of staff about our dog safe sunscreens on your next visit.

Hey guys,

Coming in to the hotter days (we hope 🀞🀭) it can be harder to get your furbabies out for walks. A great way of keeping then occupied are puzzle/enrichment toys. These provide mental stimulation that can tire your furbabies as much as physical exercise can. Engaging their cognitive skills and natural foraging instincts for as little as 15 minutes is equal to a 30 minute walk. These also replicate foraging and hunting behaviours, giving them daily enrichment. We stock range of enrichment toys, so keep your eyes out for these on your next visit πŸ₯°
