Hard to think it’s two years ago today that we said goodbye to Marvin for the final time.

We hope you’re all keeping safe and healthy in this bonkers 2020.

Not sure he’d have been happy with so few zoo visitors during lockdown - who would he pester for food??!!

We might have lost Marvin more than 18 months ago, but he lives on in CBBC’s ‘The Zoo’ !!!!!!

Hope you are all well and staying safe!

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for all the photos you have sent us of Marvin on his adventures at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park.

It’s been very comforting to know how many people he made happy - it’ll be very odd going to the zoo and not trying to find our own cat any more.

He’s left a very big hole and we miss him lots - we still expect him to come barging through the cat flap shouting at the top of his voice.

Feel free to keep the pictures coming.

Hi everyone, Marvin’s humans here.

We’re really sad to tell you that Marvin’s injuries were too much for him to recover from, and after a lot of tears we have made the heartbreaking decision to put him to sleep. He passed away peacefully with lots of hugs and kisses.

It was only a couple of months ago that we created this page, but in that time we’ve been amazed at the happiness he has brought to the many people that met him in and around the zoo - our only regret is we didn’t start the page sooner!

He was a stray that broke in through our cat flap more than seven years ago and never went away. He became part of our family, was loved by our children and even our other cat.

We’ll miss him chattering away, his love of ham and chicken, being woken up at 2am on a rainy night by what we thought was a howling drowned rat and his awful farting (he could clear a room with one blow from his bum!).

We’d love you all to post your best photos of him on here so everyone can see how much he was loved.

As heartbroken as we are, the fact that he has brought a bit of happiness to other people’s lives makes the loss a bit easier to deal with.

Hello everyone. Thank you so much for all your kind wishes.

I’ve got a broken pelvis (luckily a very straightforward fracture) and might need an operation to fix it - the vet will decide tomorrow.

I’m on some strong painkillers and anti inflammatory drugs so I’ll be fine overnight.

Thanks to everyone who helped me today after my accident - it means so much that you all care about me - hopefully I’ll be able to say thank you all in person soon.

My humans are looking after me well - I’ve had some ham and a special treat of prawns tonight, so every cloud has a silver lining!

Not sure how many of my nine lives I have left, but I certainly have one fewer than I had when I woke up this morning!!!!

Will update you all on Monday.

Some sad news.

I was hit by a car in Morrison's car park this lunchtime.

We are waiting for x-rays, but it looks like I have broken my pelvis.

Many thanks to all the people who helped look after me and took me to the vets.

I'll keep you posted when I know more.

Marvin xx

P.S: Rumours on social media of me being attacked by someone with bleach last night were not true, just somebody making up silly stories.

Marvin’s human here. Just to say we’ve just seen this. If this has happened to him it’s clearly awful what some people will do to an animal. He’s been in since just before 9pm and we will keep an eye on him. Currently tucked in bed having had a fuss.

Many thanks to the kind people who have helped him. ###
