Apologies for the late post. We have had a lot happen recently.

2 bunnies have been rehomed!!! Which is fantastic....

We have also has some chickens rehomed.

The cold weather has kicked in so heatings have been put on, and with prices going up and weather getting colder, animals will start to get cold as well.
If you have animals housed outside, we ask that you ensure they have plenty of food and plenty of insulation and everything they require.

Dont forget to keep an eye out on our Website and on pets4homes for our bunnies and chickens that are available!

When i managed to rescue Chutney, he was absolutely terrified of any movement. He would panic at everything.

He has now got slits in his ears from not being looked after at his previoushome, and yet he has the sweetest personality.

Chutney will be staying at our rescue as a permanent residence due to his history.

This little man now runs over to you for some good old head scratches and loves a cuddle.

Pmrose

Primrose was not a rescue she and her sister came to me only because the girl who had her didn't have enough time on her hands, sadly she attacked the rabbit she came with so i had to sperate them and her sister got rehomed to a family who was looking for a bunny for a while.

We are happy to announce that we have now rehomed Primrose, and she is now happy jumping around at her new home.

Bunny poops!!!

Healthy faeces in rabbits tends to be golden in colour, spherical, stable and fibrous. You should be able to roll these in your hand and they flake apart, revealing a make up of dry grass and hay. In some ways this will resemble sawdust. Sometimes this faeces can vary in colour due to their diet make up.

Wild bunnies, we highly recommend you dont keep wild bunnies as pets they can Carrie deadly diseases that can kill domestic rabbits. Wild rabbits dont live long out in the wild due to nature.

We have had this little girl come to us due to the fact she was being attacked by a cat and needed help she is now slowly regaining health and looking more lively. We DONT pick her up and cuddle her like other bunnies due to the fact she is supposed to be wild. If for some reason we have to keep her we will slowly introduce her to us but for the time being we have no contact with her.

We have called her Fanta!
She is approximately 4 weeks old.

We have to bring some sad news.

Unfortunately, our 3 babys didn't make it.
The only reason we took them away from their mother is due to the fact she wasn't looking after them, she was letting the get dangerously cold and not feeding them, there best chance at survival was in out hands. But the little souls didn't make it.

We really advise against taking baby's from their mother, we only wish she would have taken care of them.

Baby bunnies.... we have 3!!!

The babies burrow to the bottom of the nest where they remain hidden until Mamma Rabbit wakes them up at mealtime. Only rarely does a mother rabbit nurse her young right after giving birth. Most often the first nursing will occur the night after the kindling.

Hand raising baby rabbits can be quite tricky and demanding, taking up a lot of time. It should never be taken on lightly and there are some points that should be considered before deciding to hand raise. You need to be 100% sure that the mother rabbit isn't feeding the babies.

On the weekend, we came across a young bird. Sadly, he/she was injured, and we couldn't do anything in time to help the poor little fella out. We left him/her behind a tree away from human contact as we didn't wanna stree him/her out anymore.

We have harvested early!!

This year, we decided to harvest all our cherries earlier due to losing over 50% last year.
You put them in a ripening bowl or in a loosely closed brown paper bag at room temperature. We will be putting them in a brown paper bag.

You can also freeze cherries, and they are best stored in the fridge once ripe.

Once ripe, the bunnies will love some for a treat on a hot day.
