Area 12 Tetrathlon Qualifier 🏃🏼‍♀️🔫 🏊‍♂️ 🐎

This weekend kicked off our run of Area competitions and SOHC got off to a flying start!

On Saturday our Tetrathletes Edie, Alice, Rafe and Thea took on challenging cross country courses at Flamstead PC Field - up to height, technically testing and long, it was incredible to see all our riders come home with only a few time or gate faults between them. This stood them all in competitive positions going into the Tri phase on Sunday ... but before that well done to Tetrathlete in training Dottie B for coming 3rd in the 40cm assisted Hunter Trial class!

It was great to be joined by Georgina N in the Tri phase who was stepping up to Juniors for the first time. We had solid shoot scores from everyone with Rafe achieving Best Shoot score in his section. We continued to hold our own in the running with Edie, Thea and Jack achieving best runs in their section and Alice smashing her PB. Not tiring for a moment everyone achieved a PB in a very competitive swim phase.

Fabulous performances from all and huge congratulations to Thea for qualifying for the JCB Pony Club Tetrathlon Championships and for Alice’s nomination for Stepping Stones.

Thea A-F - 4th Junior Girls Tet, 1st Mixed Team, Best run
Georgina N - 4th Junior Girls Tri
Alice M - 2nd Mini Girls Tet, 1st Mixed Team
Rafe A-F - 4th Mini Boys Tet, 2nd Mixed Team, Best run and shoot
Jack A-F - 3rd Tadpole Boys Tri, 2nd Mixed Team, Best run
Edie B - 1st Beanie Girls Tet, 1st Mixed Team, Best run and shoot

A huge thank you to everyone involved for all of their hard work putting on this amazing event!

Great way to get some eventing practice.

Horse Events is trying something new for 2026! 😊

We understand life pressures, time constraints and—most importantly—your love for horses. That’s why this season we’re offering a mix of events designed to support you and your horse every step of the way.

Alongside our ODEs, we’ll be running a variety of training and fun events, giving riders the opportunity to:

* Have a go in a relaxed, supportive environment
* Practise a different test, height, or discipline
* Train young horses in preparation for competition
* Enjoy stress-free training in a competition atmosphere, without the pressure of being scored
* Build confidence before the real competition
* Get competition-ready while saving money

Whether you’re practising, preparing, or things don’t quite go to plan before your next competition, our events are here to help you regroup and move forward.

And for those of you already thinking, “But I love the Horse-Events Eventing Championship!”— don’t worry:

To avoid the heavily crowded end-of-season calendar and expense, we’ve made the decision to move our National Eventing Championships to a date closer to May / June 2027. So you now have 18 months to qualify for The Horse-Events National Eventing Championships

We’re open to new ideas and event styles, if there’s something you’d love to see, please don’t hesitate to share your ideas with us.

More information about the format of each event coming soon and bookings will open next weekend.

We can’t wait to welcome you for the 2026 season 🐎✨

I know these are popular bits for those needing more control. Well worth watching this to understand how the bit works and the curb strap makes a big difference.
