One to one sessions take place in your own home and start from £250 depending on location. Price Frequently Asked Questions:
What does the price include?
• Full assessment of your dog (or dogs) to ascertain the root cause and or potential environmental influences contributing towards the exacerbation or development of unwanted behavioural issues. You will be made aware of the cause of the behavioural issue and will actively take part in the solution.
• A clear plan of action will be put in place to turn unwanted behaviours around and re-establish a calm and balanced relationship between dog and owner based on implementing the re-direction of self-taught unwanted behaviours from the dog.
• A report is provided covering everything that is visited throughout the session to include specific pointers relevant specifically for the dog worked with. This should be followed each day with consistency from the owner/s for a bare minimum of the following two months.
• In addition to this, support by phone or WhatsApp video is available for the life of your pet at no extra charge. How long will the session take? The session will last up to 4 hours, but I do not clock watch. Why do you not split the sessions into several shorter sessions? I do not drip feed information into shorter sessions over time as this is a more effective way for me to impart information and guarantee understanding from the client. My clients also find this more cost effective. Where will the session take place? The session will take place both inside and out, depending on specific requirements. What methods do you use? No harsh methods such as prong collars, shock collars, shouting or beating are ever used. Equally, distraction techniques involving food, toys and excessive verbal communication will be kept to a bare minimum. What else do you go over?
• Clients will be helped to understand and recognise specific aspects of their own dog’s body language, eye contact and verbal communication, as well as any contributing environmental factors that may be relevant.
• The owner will learn how to communicate with their dog from a point of view that the dog understands, rather than relying solely on manmade constructs such as obedience training. What is the difference between Training and Behaviour issues? Behavioural problems are exactly that and cannot always be resolved with training involving food or toy-based distraction. The solutions are achieved by providing lifestyle changes and adjustments to daily interactions rather than relying on isolated training techniques. This removes the need for owners to set aside specific set times each day to engage in training exercises, but rather utilises adjustments to day-to-day interactions between dog and owner, to find effective solutions. Once behaviour issues are addressed and resolved, you will find that training techniques are either not required or that your dog is far more receptive, and the techniques are more effective as you and your dog now understand each other. Terms and conditions
Please note, a 30% non refundable deposit will be required at point of booking. Session dates will be held open for 24 hours and are secured when the deposit invoice is cleared. The deposit cost is deducted from the overall cost of the session on the day of booking.

FIGHTING IN THE HOME: Dog on dog aggression within the home is becoming an increasingly common problem. This week if visited these two XL Bully half brothers who have reached a point where they are fighting each other. On top of that one has developed reactivity towards dogs and the other towards people. This has extended to a family member being resource guarded when people are visiting the home.
The assumption with certain breed types is often that the owner is irresponsible or involved in criminality which leads to aggressive behaviour.
This is not always the case. The owners of these dogs are loving owners that have unwittingly fallen out of their depth with the breed they own. Owning certain types of dogs needs a clear understanding of how to provide enrichment and fulfilment for that type. This is a challenging one and will be worked on over the coming weeks with multiple sessions.

I've had so many messages and comments asking for my thoughts on the Panorama programme I thought it would be easier to blanket them all with a video.

UPDATE! This is a dog called Zino that was picked up by the police in September last year, assessed by myself in June and came home a couple of weeks ago. He was pictured in a previous post whilst being assessed at a police compound and it was great to have the opportunity to follow up with the owner today, not often something I get the chance to do and its always good to share a happy ending 😊

I had a nice call from the Panorama team today just to say that they are happy with how the program is looking and that they have made some changes since the original date was pushed back. It will definitely be going out on the 30th of this month and will be available for early viewing on BBC iplayer the same day.
I know there are alot of sceptical people out there that are worried the program is set out to villify the breed, but this is not their aim. It is actually made as a follow up to the previous program about extreme dog breeding which is well worth a watch. They have been very open to the exact content they will be using from the day they spent with me and have always been open that they talk to as many people affected as they can which is fair enough.

And through it all, the one suffering most through a flawed system is the dog, who incidentally has nothing behaviourally wrong with it. Let's hope the court don't c**k it up again!

The XL Bully ban came in two years ago and was supposed to prevent anymore fatalities from dog attacks. It clearly hasn't worked and the government are doing nothing to make changes to the legislation.
BBC panorama are highlighting this in a program this coming Monday which will be well worth a watch.
The gorgeous girl in the pics I saw this week and her biggest crime is that she is too friendly! She likes to jump up at people, other than that she has absolutely no issues at all.
