⚠️ MISSING ⚠️ One of our clients gorgeous cat, Lincoln, is still missing. We are on day 14 now, which although he has been known to take a few days vacation, is far too long. Last seen on the 10th August around the Throstle Nest/Meagill Rise area. He is quite a shy boy, so may have taken refuge in a shed, garage, outbuilding - if spooked. Please could we ask that anyone in the area and surrounding takes a few moments out of their weekend to check their gardens and any places he may have hidden. He is microchipped and neutered. Please message us, or email us on [email protected] should you have any information or sightings. Thank you 🤞🏻❤️‍🩹

❤️‍🩹 We're kickstarting this week with a little kitty called Frank! Frank was brought in to us as a rescue at only 5 weeks old, terrified of the world and extremely skittish! Luckily, our very own Cheryl was on hand to take him in as a 'foster' (.. we all know how that goes). Safe to say, his mum and dad (let's admit it, there's no fostering involved here) are besotted and so is all of his extended family at work 🥹. From a scared 620g, to a confident and purring 950g - we're proud of how far he's come 💪🏼🦁

⚠️ Upsetting to see, but a necessary awareness post. Please pack up any sport netting when not in use 🥅. Our little spiky friends don't have the best vision and need our help wherever we can 🦔

Hedgehogs and netting

This week we’ve had two hedgehogs brought to us because they have become tangled in netting. Netty, in garden netting, and here, Striker, tangled in sports netting. Poor Striker had been stuck for more than 24hours, was really hungry and thirsty, covered in flystrike (fly eggs), which luckily hadn’t hatched into maggots, and wounds where the rope had cut into him.

PLEASE, pack away sports netting when not in use and raise or tie up garden netting so that it doesn’t trail on the floor. Hedgehogs don’t have very good eyesight so often don’t see netting when they are snuffling around and then get themselves even more tangled when trying to get free.

🦔 Something a bit different than the furry patients! We work closely with Prickly Pigs Hedgehog Rescue and we had a spiky friend brought in to us after she was found wandering around in the daytime. The gang at Prickly suspected something was broken, and x-rays confirmed a fractured radius and ulnar 🦴. Realigned and splinted by one of our Vets, Charlotte.. we named her Splinty! 🩼

Splinty is coping well with her peg-leg and has only just managed to get her splint off, 1.5 weeks later! So she was back in this week for it re-doing and so far.. so good!🤞🏻

✨️ Star patient alert ✨️ We had the gorgeous Mabel visit us last week for endoscopic (keyhole) neutering and was an absolute dream! As Mabes is a little softie, we booked her a late morning admit appointment with Mark, so that her mum be with her during her pre-medication injection and stay while she started to go snoozy 💤. It worked a treat and we had a smooth sailing anaesthetic, straight forward surgery and waggy tails post anaesthetic. Well done Mabel, you did amazing 💖.

⚠️ WARNING - cuteness overload ⚠️ We had the gorgeous Margot in for her Kennel Cough vaccine and a mani-pedi on Tuesday and she was so big and brave 💖. Don't be fooled when we say big though, the photos don't her tiny size any justice.. 2.45kg of adorable-ness 🥹. She was very happy to work her poses for a photo shoot too!

We work alongside the Prickly gang frequently, and we're very proud to say we play a part in helping all of our spiky friends and their brilliant charity. 🥹 We started this week like every week should be started.. 6 day old puppy cuddles! The gorgeous Sophie had a healthy, happy, extreeeeeeemely cute (and hungry!) litter of 7 little bundles of joy 💖 A huge well done to Sophie & her family 🐶
