Sometimes the hardest part of our jobs isn’t the clearing up of 💩, or the barking, or the unpredictable weather, or the deep cleaning… or whatever else people may assume is ‘hard work’ (not much feels hard work to us, actually managing the humans is the hard part and checking in 10 dogs and cats in an hour 🤣 🤭)

It’s the not knowing when their last holiday will be. 🥺

It’s the unexpected emails that say ‘ 🐾 🐾 🐾 ‘ won’t be coming for their holiday as they’ve passed over the rainbow bridge.

Dogs and cats that we’ve taken care of, that we’ve bonded with, who we know inside and out… from how they like their meals presented, to how they like their morning cuddles, how to say good night to them, what snacks are their favourites… all the little details.

Dogs and cats who might not be ‘our family’ but they’re certainly part of our ❤️ Glencoe Family ❤️

We’ve decided we are going to have a dedicated area somewhere in our grounds to always keep their memory alive 🌈 but until then; a little Facebook post will have to suffice for those who we have lost this year ❤️‍🩹

This comes as over the weekend we had a regular of all regulars stay with us… and unfortunately she crossed over the bridge yesterday, so we even have recent pictures of her and we all got one last cuddle with her on our laps 🥰

🌈 I’d like to think there’s a noticeboard/meeting point over the bridge where they can all share Glencoe memories together 🤣 😍

🌈 And here’s to some others who we have lost recently but we will never forget …

A few of you were keen to do some fun work with your doggos but couldn’t make the dates I initially had.

Now I’ve got into a routine with my new little side hustle it’s been made simpler …

If you’ve never tracked or trailed before you can add it on to any regular session and we will adapt your part of the session to teach you the foundations 😃 and each session you attend we will build up your skills at your dogs pace 🐾

You literally use the little website to book and pay too, no block bookings just have a nosey at the dates and times … if you’re free then you’d be more than welcome to join us 😍 🐾

Nothing I love more than busy dogs being given a job!! 🫡

Albie absolutely thrives on his routine of coming to Glencoe and doing this kind of training too.

2 boarders and 2 daycare dogs all went for a lovely walk today 🌳 🪵

We can’t reccomend these walks enough as a great first stepping stone to see if your dog would be comfortable with other dogs in our field.

If you don’t know how your dog will be or if you think they’re too silly or even a little anxious then this a great way to ease them into being around dogs in a controlled manner whilst on lead at first 🐾

& the trainer will be there to advise appropriately any future steps.

Does your dog get a little too excited when they see another dog?

Or maybe they’re the opposite and need a bit more confidence around other dogs?

Our Socialisation Walks are designed to help dogs learn how to be around other dogs calmly, without the pressure of having to greet or interact.

We usually meet on alternate Saturday mornings at 10.15am in Oakhill Park, Accrington for a 45-minute walk.

All dogs stay on lead and are kept at a distance they feel comfortable with. Some dogs might need quite a bit of space to begin with, while others are working on learning that seeing another dog doesn’t automatically mean PARTY TIME.

Our trainer is there throughout the walk to help you understand what your dog is telling you through their body language, when to give them more space, and how to help them settle and make better choices around other dogs.

These walks are great for:
• Excitable dogs who struggle to stay calm around other dogs
• Dogs who lack confidence
• Young dogs learning appropriate social skills
• Owners who want to get better at reading their dog

We have a few spaces available on this Saturday’s walk.

£14 per dog
45 minutes
Oakhill Park, Accrington
Saturday at 10.15am
