Hello everyone. Following our announcement yesterday, we wanted to share more information about what the next couple of days will look like.

We are closed today as usual, but we will be back open tomorrow following our usual opening times. We do expect a small delivery of livefood and frozen to see everyone through the weekend which will be posted on here once it has arrived.

Our lovely friend Jordan from Peculiar Pets Ltd - Heckmondwike will be helping us to relocate any of the animals that we have left in the shop, so please keep in mind that there may be a bit of chaos in the following days while we work to ensure everyone a safe transition.

Our last day of trading will be the 22nd February, where we will close the doors for the last time at 4pm.

We have brought down all of the rescues equipment/decor to sell as we ideally want it all gone before Sunday, so if you fancy a bargain, feel free to pop in. All of the remaining stock on the shop floor will continue to be 20% off.

Any animal feed that has not been purchased will be distributed to different rescues in the area.

We can't put into words how surreal this feels. All of the love and support we received on our previous post was overwhelming, and none of the team can imagine not stepping into work again on Monday.

If you would like to pop-in for a farewell in the following days, we would absolutely love to see you. Thanks for everything, guys 💚

It’s with the heaviest hearts that we have to announce that our shop has to close its doors once again.

We have poured everything into this business - our time, our energy, our savings and most of all our love for the animals and the community we’ve built around them. We have fought tirelessly behind the scenes to try and keep things going. We explored every possible option we could and we gave it our all.

Unfortunately, due to decisions made by our landlord and circumstances completely outside of our control, we are no longer able to continue trading from these premises.

Reptilia Realm was built on our love for animals and the key distinction that the care of reptiles must improve from the point of sale. When we took this business on, we knew it came with history. We knew that trust had been damaged. We walked into that fully aware that we would have to work twice as hard to prove ourselves and we were willing to work towards that.

Going forward, if you have recently surrendered an animal into our care, please do not worry. Every single animal that remains is our priority during this transition. We are incredibly grateful to our good friend Jordan at Peculiar Pets Ltd - Heckmondwike who has stepped in without hesitation to support us. Any animals who have not secured homes before our closing will be safely transferred into his care. We truly encourage you to continue supporting Jordan at Peculiar Pets. Independent pet shops rely on community more than people realise and your continued support means everything.

We know this news is upsetting. It’s upsetting for us too. We kindly ask that you show patience and kindness to our team during this time. This was never a decision we wanted to make, especially not so soon after reopening and trying to rebuild.

Behind this announcement is a whole team of people who poured their hearts into this shop and who are now facing the loss of their jobs. They have shown up every day, cared for your animals like their own and have done everything they could to make this work. Please remember that this isn’t just a business closing but it is also people’s livelihoods, passions and futures being affected.

We will continue to offer the 20% off discount on all of the remaining stock we have. We've been making our way through our bookings and ringing everyone to update them on the situation. Any animal reservations made with us before this announcement will still be honoured. If you have any questions or worries please do not hesitate to contact us.

It has been an absolute pleasure to serve Ossett but for now this is a goodbye 💚

Mom, get the camera!

Here is one of the adorable Regal Jumpers we recently got in. A few of these guys have already taken a meal with us, and they're also super active. Not only are these guys outrageously cute, but they also have tonnes of personality to boot 💚

We're going through these guys pretty fast! We only have x2 Apalachicola and x2 Bahamas localities left.

We've been very busy this morning working on putting away orders and chatting to customers. After totally not getting distracted yapping about snakes, we are stocked back up on livefood, frozen, and most importantly cork bark is FINALLY back in stock! We have some lovely flats and tubes, as well as the awesome piece picture below which would be perfect for a snake.

What an exciting delivery - we finally have jumping spiders back in stock! 🕷️🕸️

These guys are absolutely diddy, so we'll be holding them back to make sure they are eating well and in the best of health. But once they're cleared, we cant wait for them to find new homes!

We currently have two species in stock, Bahamas and Apalachicola.

We were expecting a delivery today, but unfortunately the universe had other plans! We don't have much in the way of livefood at the moment, but there are plenty of great shops in the surrounding areas such as Feathers & Tails, Peculiar Pets, Outback Oddities and Snakes & Adders.
