Reptilia has found the need to open up a reptile rescue centre based in West Yorkshire to help out with the ever increasing demand to find reptiles a good loving, forever home. We aim to help educate people before a decision is made on which is the right pet to help them become a pet for life. As well as offering a service to the public we also help out with RSPCA. Due to

the complex needs of reptiles many are being kept in unsuitable conditions which may lead to lack of nutrition and basic needs sometimes due to lack of knowledge or neglect. At Reptilia we offer a reptile workshop which aims to cover the basic requirements which is needed to give reptiles everyday care they require. The recent trend to breed reptiles has also seen a growing number of unnecessarily bred bearded dragons and corn snakes to the point where the breeders are willing to give animals away just to move them on. This gives temptation for new keepers to take on a free pet just because its free. Many unfortunately end up in rescue centres. We offer an advice service by phone, facebook and email, helping with the welfare and care of all reptiles. We are also open 7 days a week for aftercare service. All animals that are ready for rehoming after being assessed and rehabilitated at Reptilia will be advertised in our shop and also on our page. We have reptiles looking for good loving homes. We also take in reptiles that the owners can no longer care for. Any reptiles accepted apart from those which require a DWA license. Donations of unwanted reptile equipment and vivariums are gratefully accepted

Introducing... Saruman! 🦎

Unlike his namesake, Saruman is an absolute joy of a bearded dragon and he's become one of our favourite spiky faces to ever grace the rescue. Although not having the best start in life, Saruman has bounced back amazingly and is now patiently waiting to find his forever home. His nickname here is glutton and he's definitely earned that title 😂💚

His adoption fee is £60 and enclosure checks will be required before he can be rehomed.

Meet Camille 💚

Camille is a 4-5 month old Yemen Chameleon who just arrived at our rescue. She is a very well-handled girl (sometimes too well handled with her grippers 😂) and would make a perfect addition to a home that has experience caring for chameleons.

Camille's adoption fee is £60. Enclosure and temperature/humidity checks are required before she can go home.

We have some amazing news for this grey, rainy day! 😊

I'm sure regulars of our shop will know of Vlad, the little old man Blue-Tongued Skink we've had looking for a home for a year and a bit now.

Well, Vlad finally found his retirement home and is with the most wonderful family. We are so incredibly happy for him and couldn't have picked a better home for him to retire in.

Anyone who has popped in and spoken to us about Vlad knows how much each and every one of us adored him so when these animals find their homes it is such a heartwarming moment. It reminds us why we are here, doing what we do, day in and day out.

No matter how long it takes, we never give up finding an animal a home 💚🦎🐢🐍

Today marks the last day of having Percy and Polly stay with us! These two are always a bundle of laughs and bring so much energy to the boarding facilities (whether we’re ready for it or not!) 😂
