Good Evening
We regret to inform everyone that we have a SUSPECTED case of Strangles at Asmall House Livery Stables.
The horse in question is undergoing testing and so far is inconclusive, so we will have to wait until Monday 1st September for the final results.
We have therefore locked down our yard until we have conclusive results.
We are taking every step available to us and the suspected horse is isolated and strict measures are in place on our yard.
Those that know us will know how strict we are and will be over the control of this and can assure everyone that every measure is being taken and I must reiterate that at this moment this a SUSPECTED case and not fully confirmed. In the event that it is confirmed we will let everyone know via social media.
The horse in question is not showing any symptoms, nor has a raised temperature. He came from a yard that been confirmed as having a case of Strangles that has been confirmed. We are not at liberty to say which yard so please don’t ask, hopefully they have confirmed via social media too.
If anyone has any concerns please do not hesitate to contact our vets who are dealing with this outbreak, who are Brown Moss Equine Clinic .
We will keep everyone informed as soon as we know that there is something to report but I must stress that this is only a SUSPECTED case at present
Thank you for your patience.
