So much to catch up on, I'm not sure where to start!
Quarterly ABP visit = pass with flying colours 💪

But omg this heat!!! 🥵🥵

Racing around keeping everything from getting too warm. Moved the whole operation inside the chiller 😉 adapt and overcome!

At one moment today I found myself staring at a freshly cleaned and disinfected dolav and thinking, if I just leave the hose in there, I could just climb in fully clothed and refuse to get out! 😁

Since the beginning of the week we have done European hours. Mornings, shut down midday and starting up again in the evening. I even nipped out at 2am this morning to swap some slabs round in the freezer so they could be on their way to Norfolk later.
I did a really good job of sneaking about so I didn't disturb anyone, until George heard me and started Eeyoring his head off loud enough to be heard in Skegness 🤦

Each night this week the freezers have been full to bursting then empty again by 9am, with chubs and slabs winging their way across the UK, in our new freezer van, to our valued customers.

It's been a challenge with producers standing down due to the heat and some with chillers struggling and being unable to get down to temperature. It's been a logistical nightmare for our little company but we hate to let our customers down and any we haven't got to yet, we will do our best to!

Over a ton a day has left here this week because dogs still need to be fed even in blistering heat, Red weather warnings and recording breaking heatwaves! 😮‍💨

But I have to say the real heroes are our wonderful staff/friends that have embraced the challenge of making raw dog food and getting it frozen, even when one minute a sky furnace is frying their skin off 🔥 and the next they are getting frostbite 🥶

Thank you for feeding me Lucozade when I was wobbly, putting up with 'accidently on purpose' being got with the power washer 🤣.
Thank you for fetching Kevin's birthday cake so he could have coffee and walnut sponge for breakfast 🎂
Thank you for checking in even when it's been radio silence for over a week and thank you for putting up with me always forgetting where I left my drink and just drinking the nearest one I find! ?

Anyhow, we made it to the end of the week in one piece, so have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Don't forget the sun cream, hats, paddling pools for dogs and humans, BBQs, Ice creams and cold beers 🍺🍨🍸🌭🥩

Just to clarify for those enquiring about price changes.
Slabs are now available in 3kg and 5kg, in both tripe and chicken.
They are available by the box as bulk breeder packs.
4 x 5kg = 20kg box.
7 x 3kg = 21kg box.
The price per kg is the same in this format.
The only slight price increase is for individual slabs, not ordered in these multiples, and that is to cover packaging cost increases only
I hope this makes sense and isn't as clear as mud 🤦

To summarise, buy by the box and benefit from our usual good value. 🙂

Please note - We have a new pricelist to be implemented June 1st 2026.
We don't want to pass on industry cost increases if we can help it, as our aim is always to try and make raw feeding available for all budgets without compromise on meat quality.
Instead we have chosen to source recycled boxes and tweaked our processes and presentation to be as cost effective as we can, leaving our product quality and delivery intact.
We will do our best to absorb as much as we can and like everyone struggling at this time, keep everything crossed that friction in the middle east will soon come to an agreeable end.

Next week will be our annual spring clean and summer break (although I'm unsure if gardening and DIY are actually a 'break', no rest for the wicked).

Please note the changes to slab sizes and bulk boxes.
We now offer slabs in 5kg and 3kg in boxes of 4 or 7 slabs.
