This absolute UNIT is Chip, the Leonberger, and honestly… what a handsome giant! 😍🦁

Chip came in for a pamper at Squish & Wiggles Dog Grooming, and after all that glorious fluff, we decided the “after” photo was definitely an outdoor job 😂 Because inside the salon currently looks less like a grooming salon and more like a giant dog has exploded in it. 💨🐶😂

Behind every small business is a family ❤️

As many of you know, I run Squish & Wiggles Dog Grooming from AVM Motor Repairs (my husband's business). Every now and then I get a phone call because he needs a hand... and yesterday was no exception!

He needed my help towing a car back to the workshop (my talents really are endless 🤣), so me and the OG Squish & Wiggles packed everything up and headed to the unit to help out.

Afterwards, we treated ourselves to a sneaky McDonald's and had our dinner camped out around my grooming table. Not exactly glamorous... but it's our kind of normal!

I just wanted to share this little glimpse behind the scenes because when you choose Squish & Wiggles, you're not just supporting a small business. You're supporting our family, our dreams, and all the little moments that make this life possible.

Every appointment, every recommendation, every like, share and kind word genuinely means the world to us. We never take your support for granted.

Handsome little gentleman, Charlie 🩵

At 14 and a half years young, Charlie is proof that our senior pups deserve a little extra patience and a lot of extra love.

As our dogs get older, grooming isn't about perfection—it's about keeping them comfortable. For Charlie, that means:
🐶 Taking plenty of breaks.
✂️ Keeping his coat shorter so he can go longer between grooms.
💙 Working at his pace, not ours.

Charlie is the definition of a grumpy old man 😂 and his groom is never "perfect"... but that's okay. His comfort will always come before a perfect finish.

Keep being you, wee man. We wouldn't have you any other way. 🥰

✨ Who remembers Bruce? 🐶💙
Bruce first visited me back in February after going through several medical conditions, which unfortunately had taken quite a toll on his coat.
Together, we decided the kindest option was to give him a nice short tidy-up and allow his coat to grow back healthy and strong.

Well... fast forward 12 weeks, and just look at him! 😍 His coat is looking so much healthier, fuller and shinier. It's amazing what a little time and lots of TLC can do. 🫶🏼

Sometimes grooming isn't about achieving the perfect style straight away. It's about doing what's best for the dog, putting their comfort and wellbeing first, and giving their coat the chance to recover properly. Bruce is proof that patience really does pay off! ❤️

He's been an absolute superstar every step of the way, and I can't wait to see how gorgeous his coat continues to grow. 🐾

🐶🚿 When you're the boss's dog, you'd think you'd get the full VIP treatment... right? 🤔

Wrong. 😅

While all of my lovely customers enjoy the full Squish & Wiggles salon experience, my own dog gets what can only be described as a "peasant bath" at home. No fancy salon, no luxury spa package, no endless treats... just a bath and a very disappointed face. 😂

The look of disgust says it all:
"Mother, I cannot believe you've done this to me."

🐾✨ NEW PUPS ALERT... and lots of them! ✨🐾

The last few weeks at Squish & Wiggles have been absolutely packed with adorable new faces! 🥹🫶🏼

We've welcomed so many new pups through the salon doors that there's no chance I can squeeze them all into one post! Between puppy cuddles, first grooms, zoomies, treats, and making new furry friends, it's been non-stop cuteness overload. 🐶💕

So here's just a small selection of some of the gorgeous newcomers who have visited recently... but don't worry, there are plenty more photos to come! 📸🐾

💜 A Little Life Update from Squish & Wiggles Dog Grooming 💜

If you've noticed I've been a little quieter on social media recently, it's not because I haven't wanted to post – life has just been wonderfully busy!

Between running the salon, being Mum to two amazing children, and trying to keep on top of everything else that comes with daily life, there really aren't enough hours in the day. Most days I'm doing something every waking hour, whether that's grooming your gorgeous dogs, attending appointments, school runs, helping with homework, or tackling the endless mountain of washing!

A few weeks ago, I had to bring my daughter Rae also known as wiggles into the salon with me for a few days. As many of you know, Squish & Wiggles is just me, and sometimes that means a little bit of juggling behind the scenes.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the customers who were so understanding, patient, and supportive during that time. Your kindness means more than you know and is one of the reasons I love what I do.

While I've been quiet online, you've all been keeping me incredibly busy in the salon, and for that I'm so grateful. Thank you for continuing to trust me with your wonderful dogs and for supporting my little business.
Here's to more wagging tails, fluffy cuddles, and hopefully a few more social media posts from me! 🐾

🐾 Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month 🐾

Many of my lovely customers already know this, but before opening Squish & Wiggles Dog Grooming I spent over 14 years working in veterinary practice as a Registered Veterinary Nurse — something I am incredibly proud of and always will be. 💚

Being an RVN is so much more than cuddles and puppy kisses (although they definitely help 🐶).

Veterinary nurses are there through every stage of an animal’s journey — from caring for sick and injured pets, monitoring anaesthetics during surgery, supporting owners through difficult times, to making sure every patient feels safe, comfortable and loved.

It’s a career that requires dedication, compassion, resilience and an enormous amount of knowledge and skill. Veterinary nurses are often the quiet superheroes behind the scenes in practice, working tirelessly for the animals in their care. 🩺✨

Although my path has now led me into dog grooming, my nursing background remains a huge part of who I am and has shaped the way I care for every dog that walks through the doors at Squish & Wiggles Dog Grooming. Their health, comfort and wellbeing will always come first. 🐾

So this Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month, I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the amazing veterinary nurses out there for everything you do every single day.

You are truly invaluable.
