Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share a little update with you 🤍

Over the past few months, I’ve been creating my canine oral hygiene training, and the original business in a box idea is still something I genuinely believe is a brilliant concept.

But if I’m being honest, the way I was planning to deliver it, with structure, expectations, and needing to always be available, has been feeling quite overwhelming.

So I’ve taken a step back and really thought about how I want my business and life to feel moving forward.
I’m not stepping away from it, but I am changing how I do things.
Instead of a traditional course launch, I’ll be building and releasing my training more slowly, as a library of resources, sharing things as they’re ready, without pressure or deadlines.

I’ll also be simplifying my product range.

There’s a new toothbrush I’m hoping to be able to offer soon (once I can get hold of it), and I’ll be restructuring everything so you can choose what you need, whether that’s the starter kit, business bundles, or training, rather than one full package.

And I just want to say this part clearly…

This isn’t me failing, and it isn’t me giving up.
This is me making decisions that allow me to be more present for my family, and for the support my daughter needs with her education and Autism diagnosis right now.

I’ve worked hard to get my grooming business into a place where I can create that space, and at the moment, the way I was building this side of things was adding pressure rather than taking it away.

So I’m choosing to do it differently.

A little note on postage and dispatch so you know what to expect 🤍

During term time, I can usually arrange postage Monday to Thursday, and in most cases I can get your order dispatched within around 24 hours of it being placed.

Orders placed on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday will be processed and sent the following week (Monday–Thursday).

During the school holidays, I slow things right down and only post once a week on a Thursday.
To be included in that week’s dispatch, orders need to be placed by Tuesday evening / Wednesday morning at the latest.

I don’t post at weekends, and I’m not a next-day service.

This is a small business that I run around my salon and my family life, and during the holidays especially I take that time to be present at home.
If you know you’re going to need products, please try to order in advance rather than last minute so I can make sure everything gets to you in good time.

A little update on how to order from me going forward 🤍

To keep things simple (and to make sure nothing gets missed), all orders now need to go through my website.

You can choose:
– First or second class delivery straight to your door
– Or click & collect if you’re local (no postage cost)

If you choose collection, just pop me an email after placing your order and we’ll arrange a time.
Collections are available Monday to Thursday from the salon only.

I’m no longer able to take orders or messages through:
– WhatsApp
– Facebook Messenger
– Instagram (I’m not active on there)

This is purely so I can keep everything organised and make sure nothing gets lost, and also to reduce my time on social media for my own wellbeing.

All correspondence and questions can be sent via email, and all orders through the website.

Just a little update from me 💛

With the school holidays here, I’m going to be taking a couple of weeks to step back from the business and focus on home, my daughter, and just life for a little while.

Running a business around family is something I’m really proud of, but it also means I need to take this time when it’s needed.

I’ll be back on April 13th.

If you do need anything:

– Orders will still be sent out on Thursday 2nd & Thursday 9th
– Emails and messages will be picked up when I’m back
– You may still see posts and emails from me, but they’re all scheduled

A lot of groomers avoid talking about dental health because they don’t feel confident enough.
And I completely understand that, I felt the same at the beginning.
You don’t want to say the wrong thing
You don’t want to overstep
And you don’t want to feel like you’re selling
But what helped me was understanding this:
You don’t need to know everything.
You just need to understand your role.
We’re there to support preventative care, not diagnose or treat.
And when you’re clear on that, the conversations become much easier.

Emmi - Air

There’s something I’ve changed at home recently that’s made a bigger difference than I expected.

Air quality.

With everything going on in life, especially with my daughter needing that extra support, creating a calm environment at home has become really important to me.

And since improving the air quality, the whole space just feels different.
Fresher, lighter… calmer.
It’s not something I ever really thought about before.

But when your environment feels calmer, it affects everything, your energy, your mindset, how you move through your day.
Sometimes it’s the small changes that make the biggest difference.

Three and a half years ago, my goal was to add just 13 teeth cleans a month.

That would have brought in around £300 extra… and at the time, that felt like it would make a real difference.

That was the goal.

Fast forward to now… we have 97 dogs on regular teeth cleaning in the salon.

That works out at nearly 50 dogs a month… and around £1,500 in additional income.

And the biggest surprise?

We now get more enquiries for teeth cleaning than we do for grooming.

What started as a small add-on has become a core part of my business.

But more than that, it’s changed how I work.

It fits better with my background, it’s less physically demanding, and I genuinely love the difference it makes to the dogs we see.

It’s made me realise this…

Small, consistent changes in your business can grow into something much bigger than you expect.

I used to believe the only way to earn more in my business was to work more.
More dogs. Longer days. More physical work.
And it was exhausting.

Adding teeth cleaning changed that for me.
It’s increased my turnover by nearly £1,500 a month…
But I’ve reduced my hours to school hours.
So I’m working less, and still earning well.
That shift made me realise something important:
Your income doesn’t have to be tied to how physically hard you work.

Have you ever felt like your business is taking more from you than it’s giving back?

One of the biggest things that changed everything for me was this:
Understanding that we are not there to replace vets.

And when that line isn’t clear, it creates pressure…
Pressure to achieve results we shouldn’t be aiming for.
Ultrasonic teeth cleaning is about prevention and maintenance, not treatment.
When you stay within that, everything feels calmer, for you and for the dog.

Have you ever felt unsure about where that line is?

Because it’s one of the most common things professionals struggle with.
And once it clicks, your confidence grows so much.

I’ve been making lots of decisions recently about how I want my Confident Canine Oral Hygiene course to look and feel. (This is the hold up, I’ve changed things 100’s of times) 🤭🤣

Now for me personally social media is draining the life out of me, in the world today most things we do are online or on social media and in some ways that’s great because it’s opened up so many more opportunities and ways to do things, but if not managed correctly it can also be incredibly draining and can very quickly take over your life.

Recently I’ve realised I’m living most of my life online, personally and in business and I feel like I can no longer do this and retain my energy levels, and also be present for the people I need to be present for.

SO I’m setting up systems to enable me to run my business’s without being on social media all of the time.

The group support I will offer with my Confident Canine Oral Hygiene course will be a community space away from facebook, here you will be able to ask questions, chat to one another and I can give you the support you need.
