We’ve made a few small changes at Hound.

Amy will now be staying a little later on weekdays, with the salon open until around 5pm, which allows for an additional afternoon grooming space.

We’ve also opened up a few more Saturday appointments, which we know are always in demand.

We have a full diary, so these extra hours help us create a little more space while still keeping things calm and considered for each dog.

Bookings are now open if you’d like to get something arranged.

If your dog is due a groom, or you’d like to bring an upcoming appointment forward, this could be a good opportunity for a quieter visit in the salon.

Our next Saturday availability isn’t until 25th April, and they do tend to fill quite quickly.

🐾 Let’s Talk About Nail Clipping 🐾

Nail care is one of those small things that can make a big difference to a dog’s comfort. When nails grow too long, they can affect how a dog stands and moves, and can even make walks less enjoyable over time.

At Hound Pet Salon in Kimberley, we take nail clipping slowly and thoughtfully. Some dogs aren’t fussed at all, while others need a little more reassurance and time. Both are completely normal. Our focus is always on helping dogs feel settled, supported, and comfortable during the process.

Regular nail trims don’t have to be a big event. Keeping on top of them little and often can help avoid sensitivity and make each visit feel easier for your dog.

If you’re unsure whether your dog’s nails need trimming, or if nail clipping has been tricky in the past, we’re always happy to talk it through and offer gentle support.

Those early grooming experiences matter. How a puppy feels during their first visits can shape their confidence for a long time, which is why we’re always mindful of slowing things down.

At Hound Pet Salon in Kimberley, puppy appointments focus on gentle introductions. We give puppies time to settle, get used to being handled, and become familiar with the salon environment in a way that feels safe to them. Nothing is rushed, and there’s no pressure to do more than a puppy is comfortable with on the day.

Some puppies take everything in their stride straight away. Others need a little more time and reassurance. Both are completely fine. Our job is to support them where they are, not push them to where they’re not ready to be.

If you’ve recently welcomed a puppy and want to start their grooming journey calmly and thoughtfully, you’re very welcome to get in touch. We’re always happy to talk things through.
