Just an update to let you all see what I'm working on at the moment.

Working with chalk on black paper and doing portraits is something I'm having a go at over the coming weeks.
I want to challenge myself to create them as they are notoriously difficult, the way the chalk contrasts on the black paper helps to provide depth to the image, but the subtleties of tone are what give it form.

Having a few practices with the line and wash technique, I really like the solid, and sometimes subtle, black lines and the way the watercolours blend into one another.

It may be the direction my future art is going, I Don't know yet as I also like using pencils and charcoals.

This portrait was created for a lovely lady at Cats Protection Derby and District Branch .

I learnt alot using glazes and increasing the amount of contrast between the layers of fur for a more realistic texture.
I used acrylic paint for the portrait.

My first craft event
A small event at Redhill Marina Ale Room and Snug, but a successful one nonetheless.
Sold a few originals and gained another 6 orders for Christmas.

I've not done one before and for some reason I felt a little nervous but after a short time and once I'd started selling it soon went away 😁.
I'm now looking at producing prints rather than selling my originals, and also looking at other craft events I can go to.
