Not every cat needs the same approach.

Some need time.
Some need patience.
Some just need someone willing to listen to what they’re communicating.

Offering calm one to one appointments, will always mean more to me, than cramming lots of cats in and rushing through appointments.

For nervous, elderly, sensitive, or easily overwhelmed cats, gentle grooming can make such a huge difference 🐾

One of my lovely regular clients said something today that genuinely meant so much to hear 💜

She told me that since bringing her cats to me at Purrfectly Groomed Cats, grooming has become far less stressful for both her and her cats.

She’s noticed their coats are in much better condition, they’re much easier to brush and maintain at home, they’re no longer getting knotted like they used to… and you can truly see and feel the difference after their grooms 🥹

Comments like this remind me exactly why I do things the way I do. Gentle handling, cat specific coat care, welfare first grooming, and working with the cat, instead of against them will always be my priority.

Some cats have extra toes… and extra personality to match! 💜

This gorgeous polydactyl kitty came in for a gentle groom recently, and honestly, those big mitten paws were impossible not to fall in love with.

Polydactyl cats are born with extra toes, which can make their paws look oversized or thumb like but those extra toes can also mean extra fur trapping, matting between the pads and claws that need careful monitoring.

Just popping back on to say… yes, I’m still here 👋

I know I’ve been a little quiet on social media lately. Things have been very busy behind the scenes with grooming appointments, looking after lots of lovely cats, giving each one the time and calm approach they need 🐾

But I’ve missed sharing more of the cats I meet, little grooming tips, behind the scenes moments, and a bit more of daily life at Purrfectly Groomed Cats.

Let’s be honest… keeping social media updated can feel like another full time job!

So I’m going to try and post a little more regularly again 💜

The biggest mistake I see with cat grooming is owners thinking it’s something that only needs doing occasionally.
In reality, regular grooming helps prevent matting, reduces hairballs and allows early spotting of skin or coat issues before they become uncomfortable for your cat.
Even short, routine sessions make a big difference to their comfort and overall coat condition.
