Gorgeous, Gorgeous & Gorgeous, also known as Bess, Nala & Sol…

R&R before their afternoon walk. (Bess doesn’t usually choose the kitchen & fancied a change; Sol wanted to be with Bess, & we wrongly assumed she’d go straight to her buddy; Sol headed straight for Nala, so Nala got far more than she bargained for & has been very good about it!).

🐾🖤 Happy National Black Cat Day! 🖤🐾

Today we’re celebrating the beauty, mystery, and charm of black cats – often overlooked due to old myths and misconceptions.

Sadly, black cats are still the least likely to be adopted from rescue centres. They account for nearly three times more entries into RSPCA care than other colours and take around three times longer to find a home.

Why? Superstitions, outdated beliefs, and the idea that they don’t photograph well have all unfairly impacted their chances – but we know how wonderful they truly are.

It’s International Cat Day & we forgot? How could we?! (We’re up to our eyes looking after some glorious feline friends, that’s our excuse!).

The last of our 3 afternoon walks, & Sweet Briar Marshes proved a popular choice. Running parallel to Marriotts Way, we chose joggers over a plethora of bicycles, most of which seem to be motorised & moving much faster than they should!

Storm’s delighted to have Rosie 3 back, so much so she stole a corner of her bed rather than sleep in her own after their morning walk. (Luckily, Rosie doesn’t mind sharing!).

Abel was determined to say hello this morning, & he even battled his way onto the stool in the kitchen to do it - it’s no easy task when you’re geriatric, more than a little unstable on your pins & as light as a feather, but he made it!

Loving our Saturday walk with this weekend’s houseguests; Marriotts Way looks stunning & is well worth a visit. (We were at the Norwich end yesterday, & today we started in Costessey heading towards Aylsham. Tomorrow, who knows?!).

With a 19-year age gap between the oldest & the youngest, our cat visits are in full-swing - we really have seen some gorgeous faces this week.

With some of the more cooperative models: Abel, Benjamin, Cosima, Eva, Jessica, Nelson & Squeak 3…It’s all a bit too much for Gabby, Jasper, Lemony & Squeak 2!
