💜 Over the last year Part of the Pack has been working on an exciting project close to our hearts. For those of you who don’t know trainer Nicky works part time as a ‘Learning support assistant within the education system’. The journey has been full of learning about the system and gaining information on how our four pawed companions can make a difference within education facilities. During the process Part of the Pack teams have been invited to visit local college campus’ to spread awareness and some dog magic to staff members. A huge Thank-you to all the teams who attended visits, CPD staff training days and to those who shared their experiences as case studies or completed surveys. (Surveys and case studies also included external teams.)That little window into your lives and sharing your stories, hopefully can help drive positive change and awareness in the future of education! * Alt text in comments

💜 Huge celebrations for Team Esper this week as they completed their first ever independent shopping trip without a support person! The dynamic duo are really starting to grow as a team and everything is falling into place for Esper to support handler E! 💜 Today we caught up with one of our past clients and previous graduate Martha. After graduation some of our teams will choose to work independently depending on their individual needs / circumstances. It is always so fantastic to catch up and see everything they have been up to together. 💜 This March we are holding a fund raising raffle. All proceeds go towards Assistance Dog Jackets for our life changing dogs! There are 2 raffles being drawn. Draw 1 is a 100 square with a £25 prize, £1 entry per square. Draw 2 is a 100 square with a £50 prize £2 entry per square. On the 31st of March 2024 1 winner from each draw will be selected at random when all the squares are taken. 💜 Todays post is one of celebration but also some sadness. Due to Myla’s allergies progressing to being triggered by environmental factors, it has been decided that we will not be progressing with her Public access training. Instead, we are proud to graduate her as a Home based Assistance Dog. 🎓Animal welfare will always be of utmost priority and therefore whilst it is devastating that her training journey has been cut short, I am sure she will continue to improve her persons quality of life by providing her valuable tasks within the home. Myla has a lovely temperament, a love for work and learning new things and may just have the strongest understanding of the training language I have personally ever seen. I have no doubts that if the circumstances were different she would have breezed through her Public Access and Advanced Assessments. My thoughts are with the team as they process this decision. To beautiful Myla, thankyou for all you have taught me, and the enjoyment I have gotten from each of our training sessions and getting to know you. 💜 A huge congratulations to Team Nala on their first day at school this week. They have displayed some amazing teamwork supporting each other in the new environment and we are so excited to see what this means for them in the Future. Part of the Pack supports many individuals in returning to education or the workplace where previously it has not been possible.
