I was speaking with my partner a few days ago about my business, and how I feel I need to do more as I often feel im not doing enough...
My partner asked me what I mean.
Well, when people see me posting and sharing my business, they likely just see another 'pet sitter', these are her prices but what makes her so different.. I would like to try and change that but I dont know how.
My partner said to me: "But, for you its more personal.. You take the time to get to know your clients cats personalities and it shows when you come home. Not to compare, but how many pet sitters do you know actually take the time to get to know the cats they are looking after?.. Dogs maybe, but cats?.. A great example was last year when you had to take your clients elderly cat to the vets because he wasn't well, and you had to be told his owners made the decision to have him put to sleep. You refused to leave and stayed, because you wanted him to have someone he knows with him til the very end so he wasnt alone.. And those clients couldn't have expressed enough how much that meant to them that you made a decision to stay, because in all honesty, how many pet sitters would actually stand in on behalf of their clients for their pets final moments? You worry about your business because you dont see it as that. You do have clients that see this too and they have expressed how much they appreciate what you do. Maybe focus on this instead of telling yourself you aren't doing enough".
Now, my partner isn't always right - yet for once, his words did hit me and had me sitting in silence for a while. β€οΈ I really do adore the cats I get to meet and spend time with, even the spicy ones π₯Ή xx
