I’ve groomed Poppy the Cavapoochon many times and at the beginning of the year she gained a new housemate called Winnie who is a Shih Poo. They have always tuned up separately until today when their owner dropped them off together nice and early. They were very well behaved while I took it in turns to groom them although they did steal poor Rex’s bed so he took himself away to the kitchen and laid on his other bed in there 😂 Here’s a bit of advice from the Kennel Club about caring for your dog before and during the fireworks 🧨

Just the one today and it was Concha the XL Bully, this is a previous photo as I forgot to take one this morning. She had a bath 🛀 a brush and her ears cleaning 🤗 When you turn up for your appointment if you poke your nose into the porch area there’s some Ancol collars and toys for sale.

Housemates Millie and Monty called in first thing this morning for their regular grooms. I managed to get a better finish on Millie the Maltipoo as she wasn’t as fidgety on the table and Monty was his normal daft lovable self. I did notice the sun 🌞 appeared before lunchtime through my shed window which is earlier than usual with the clocks going back yesterday.

Been a quiet few days so I’ve just put all my photos into one post. On Thursday Luca arrived and his owners didn’t want his coat too short so instead of using my 5mm blade I used my 5mm comb attachment and although they’re both the same length I find the comb attachment leaves the coat a touch longer. On Friday it was Charlie the Cavapoo for his regular groom and he’s tolerating my slicker brush more so getting a better finish on his coat. This morning was housemates Max the Golden Retriever and gave him a good brush through and his pal Pablo the Labrador who had a bath 🛀 and his ears cleaned.

Rex’s two favourite customers turned up today as they both bring him treats 😂 First this morning was Charlie the Doodle and her Dad gives Rex a bonio at the end of her groom. I went short around Charlie’s eyes so that she can see those pesky squirrels 🐿️ around Marbury Park. Myself and Rex sneaked a nice cheeky walk at Neumann’s Flashes between grooms and the rain ☔️ held off until we got back to the car 👍 Last dog was Button the Shih Tzu and his Mum gives Rex a beef stick which lasts less than a second 😬

Another sad farewell to one of my elderly ladies and this time it was Sapphire the Border Terrier 😢 She had been suffering from dementia which was becoming increasingly worse so much so her owners were scared to leave her on her own. They did the kindness thing for her and she was put to sleep this weekend. She and her partner in crime Jasper the Miniature Pinscher used to go bonkers at the window when I turned up in my mobile van 🚐 to groom them but inside the van she was as good as gold. Jasper is missing his long time pal and myself and Rex will miss her too. Goodbye lovely Sapphire ❤️ xx

Don’t know about a Jack in the box 📦 this is more Jaxx the Dachshund in a box 😂 Some dogs hate being caged or crated (my Rex is one of them, it totally freaks him out) but others like Jaxx love their little safe space. Once his groom was finished he had a quick snoop around the garden then jumped in his travelling case ready for home 🤗 Next was Bilbo, a Terrier cross who comes along from Runcorn, he was groomed while his Dad did the food shopping in Northwich. Last dog was Ted the Schnauzer and his Mum asked me to go short but not too short as it’s getting a bit chilly 🥶

Been away for a few days in my camper van 🚐 to Christleton near Chester but got back yesterday morning in time to welcome Tia the Cockapoo for her short but not too short groom. Next was Tobi the Yorkie, I normally take up to about 10 photos once the groom is finished and look what cheeky face I managed to capture on him 😂 Just the one today and that was Annie the Cockapoo, I trimmed a bit more fur from round her face and shortened her tail.

No Hospital shift this morning so filled up my diary with appointments and groomed instead 🤗 First dog through the door was Jacko the Cavapoo, his fur can get quite long but it doesn’t tangle or matt which is unusual for a curly coated breed, I clipped him to 1cm with my comb attachments. Next was Betsy a Cockapoo, her appointment was at 11am so it meant I listened to the Paddy McGuinness show from start to finish while grooming her which was a bonus. After lunch Teagan the Cocker Spaniel turned up, she had spent the morning running around Marbury Park off lead so I imagine she is fast asleep 💤 now.

Went to Willowsway Cat Rescue coffee ☕️ morning first thing but didn’t stay too long, there were kittens 🐱 and cake 🍰 which gave Rex a sensory overload 😬 Walked back home and collected Bella along the way, she had her usual 1cm trim all over and took a touch more off her tail this time. Next was Bella’s buddy Buster the Chihuahua, he is very photogenic especially when he caught the rays from the afternoon sunshine ☀️ Last dog was Milo the Shih Tzu, his owner is a plasterer so his Dad plastered one of my kitchen walls while I groomed Milo.

After several years of not making my Christmas 🎄 cards this year I have got some photos printed out already 🤗 When I lived in Runcorn all my customers bar a couple also lived in Runcorn so logistically it was easy to deliver them. My partner would plot a few bike routes and we would cycle 🚴‍♀️ round and post the cards. Now I live in a more rural area my customers are more widespread, however, if I can start now then I will hand out more of them instead.
I will deliver this card to Marla tomorrow but sadly it’s a leaving card as she is moving out of the area on to pastures new 🥲

Even earlier start this morning when Rocky the Labadoodle called in at 8am, he had a short clip to his body but left the length around his head as his owner prefers it that way. Next dog was Amber another Doodle and she has been quite poorly with pancreatitis but is on a special protein diet now so she couldn’t share my sandwich 🥪 Last dog in the afternoon was Chester the Shih Tzu and he had a short but not too short groom as his owner doesn’t want him feeling the cold now the weather is turning.
