LEICESTERSHIRE GUNDOG SOCIETY 16 DOG AV RETRIEVER Novice Stake at Deene, Northants. 22 December 2023.

Judges: Godfrey Lowe, Lee Hayman, Tom Birchall & Doug Laflin.
A really good Novice Stake in strong winds held today at Deene on a variety of challenging grounds and as a mix of walked-up and driven. A great shooting day with a variety of pheasants, partridges, woodcock and hares. The guns were shooting very well considering the fast birds on this windy day. Great atmosphere and good company.
Many thanks to the judges - you were great company and gave everyone a fair crack of the whip.
Unfortunately this trial ended with no awards as the last two dogs had their eyes wiped by the judges.
Many thanks to Gavin Chambers and all who helped for making this day so successful.

Judges: Mike Rolland, David Logan, Tony O'Hare & Louie Robertson.
A really good Open Stake in a fair wind on the first day and a mainly gentle breeze on the second day making for good shooting and challenging retrieves, held at Park Farm on the first day and at Holy Oaks on the second day at Nevill Holt - on a variety of grounds, mainly walked-up mixed with mini drives. There was a great and friendly atmosphere throughout the two days.
Many thanks to the judges - you were great company and gave everyone a fair crack of the whip. The judges kept the trial flowing really well and received a lot of praise from all. Thanks also to the Guns who shot safe and well.

A really good Novice Stake held today at Deene on a variety of grounds walked-up as well as driven. A great shooting day where four dogs made it to the end of the day. The guns were shooting well and game was well presented. Great atmosphere and good company. A lovely mild day with a good wind made a very nice conclusion to the season for our society.

LEICESTERSHIRE GUNDOG SOCIETY 16 DOG AV RETRIEVER Novice Stake at The Rambank Club Syndicate Shoot, Creeton, Notts. 13 January 202.

Judges: Tim Brain, Jo Rollinson, Kirsty Cousins & Mike Birchall. The society was fortunate to come to Creeton for our first Novice Stake this season and Head Keeper Tom Dyer showed plenty of strong well flying birds. The Trial could be completed over two drives and the guns shot another 4. We all met up for the awards at the meet by the end of the day. We are really grateful and hope there will be a chance of coming back to Creeton another year.
A really good Novice Stake on a mild day with not a lot of wind on a variety of undulated ground - open and woodland - and with a few obstackles and the 2 drives produced a sufficient number of birds to test the dogs. A great shooting day where four dogs made it to the end of the day. The dog standard was good and the judging was positive and a fine display in good teamwork. The guns were shooting well and there was a great atmosphere throughout the day. It was really nice to see so many people - including all the guns - stay for the awards.

LEICESTERSHIRE GUNDOG SOCIETY 16 DOG AV RETRIEVER All Aged Stake at Manor Farm, Car Colston, Notts. 22 December 2021.

Judges: Richard Beckerleg, Dawn Scott, Lee Hayman & Tom Birchall. The society was treated to be invited to this lovely shoot by Mr. Forman Hardy and his Head Keeper Andrew Daubrah showed plenty of strong well flying birds. We are really grateful and hope there will be a chance of coming back to Car Colston.
A really good All Aged Stake on a cold day with not a lot of wind on a variety of grounds and 3 drives produced a sufficient number of birds to test the dogs. A great shooting day where five dogs made it to the end of the day. The dog standard was good and the judging was positive and a fine display in good teamwork. The guns were shooting well and there was a great atmosphere throughout the day. It was really nice to see so many people - including some of the beaters - stay for the awards.
