It’s easy to focus on the negatives after an injury - to replay what went wrong and fear what might happen again. I try to remember where we started and commit to rebuilding from the ground up. Taking opportunities to compete in new places, even when it felt uncomfortable. Progress wasn’t loud or fast, but it was steady. We’re not where we started, and I won’t forget the patience, grit, and quiet work it took. This sport asks for more than talent or results. Love for the early mornings, the long days, the setbacks, and the moments no one sees. Love that carries you through fear, frustration, and doubt, and brings you back to the saddle anyway. Without that love, it’s hard to stay. With it, even the hardest seasons have purpose. Because at the end of the day, you don’t do this just to win - you do it because you love to 🤍.

Before VS after…

V found the meet at home very exciting. Started off super chilled & SUPER CLEAN. I had planned to have a quiet morning, which V was not too pleased about. A perfect rear on uneven ground resulted to her falling on me causing a broken wrist and helmet.

Maybe hunting isn’t for V and we’ll stick to what we do best.

However it was lovely to see some familiar faces with their new ponies. Time to take a little break for now 💪🏼🩻

We’ve been very quiet recently. I’ve been busy house sitting for the past month, work & actively planning and making some big changes for us both ready for October.

V has had the occasional lesson which has been so comforting due to the lack of consistent riding, we’ve still got it 💅🏼

However she’s reminding me winter is on its way - her beard has appeared 🧔🏼‍♀️.. what a lovely feeling..

Few weeks and we’ll be settled🤞🏼

SWIPE: V before & 2 years later - vet checked ✅

We’ve narrowed it down to Vitiligo through vet checks & posts on forum pages. Some say deficiency in vitamins however all has been provided since I’ve had her. Protection - suncream & fly mask.

Vitiligo in horses : Vitiligo is a hereditary skin condition where areas of skin and hair lose pigment, resulting in white/pink patches. It’s not noticeable at birth and typically appears in young adulthood, particularly on the face, around the eyes, and muzzle. While more common in certain breeds. It doesn’t cause any other health problems and is not considered painful to the horse.

Treatment : There is no cure for vitiligo, treatments used on humans are unlikely to be effective on horses.

Very unique girl 💅🏼
