- Mince pies and Christmas pudding are risky because they often contain raisins, sultanas or currants, which can cause serious kidney injury in dogs.
- Grapes and raisins should always be treated as an emergency because even small amounts can be harmful and sensitivity varies.
- Xylitol, found in many sugar-free gums, mints and baked goods, can cause a rapid drop in blood sugar and sometimes liver damage.
