It may be scorching 🔥 but these pups are all definitely happier and more comfortable after a good spruce up.
A nice cool bath 🚿, the removal of undercoat and a good trim in cases can really help with body regulation with the skin being able to breath better

So summer has come early it's crazy isn't it in a space of 10 days it's gone from heating and fires on to let's get the fans out!

It is going to be warm particularly next week so my Hot Weather Protocol will be in place, breeds who are at high risk will be rescheduled, and times of appointments will be adjusted. Dryers will be set on cool, cooler baths will be given. Dogs may be damp in a few areas particularly large and fluffy ones but with the warm weather it's less of an issue.
Be safe and sensible and enjoy the Sun ☀️

This week I had a visit from Buddy the Border Terrier. One of my favourite breeds. They are very affectionate for Terrier but also have big personalities and are known to be feisty!
He came in for Handstrip which involves removing dead top guard hair which is very wiry leaving the mid coat softer undercoat. He then had a bath to freshen up and then finally a removal of the dead undercoat that was compacted. A highly skillful technique but always shows a great transformation
