We’re happy to let you know that our EBC Hooded Siskin Mix is now available again!

This special mix was created exclusively for us by two well-known European breeders. It contains around 25 different seeds, including a generous amount of Nyger seeds, carefully chosen to provide a nutrient-rich diet perfectly suited to hooded siskins.

The blend is expertly prepared by our specialist seed merchant, who sources and mixes seeds for some of the best bird breeders across Europe. Ideal for year-round feeding, this mix keeps your birds healthy and thriving in every season.

Essex Bird Centre are proud to be there Sponsor of what is called the UK’s biggest little bird sale.

This is a bird sale not to be missed.

Doors open 11am early bird tickets entry at 10.30am.

There’s a great food stand and other trade stands.

We have managed to find a new supplier for Fresh Green Millet, which was and is a very popular product. It contains over 300% more nutrients than the dried millet. Canaries and finches of all types love it.

Fresh Green Millet once harvested must be kept frozen to retain a higher level of nutrients. If given fresh millet 4-6 weeks before breeding it will often act as an aphrodisiac, bringing birds hormones into breeding condition. (Not fit for human consumption though)

We have some available now but have limited supplies.

Frozen Green Millet is available in 1kg & 2.5kg price includes Polybox and ice.

Next year, I know a long time off, but we should have a good supply which can be sent out as soon as harvested in 2026. Having it sent direct when harvested is much more cost effective. So make a note if you have had it before or are interested in next years harvest👍
