Today Indie and Maverick finished their programmes and I couldn’t be prouder of them and their family.

In 10 weeks they’ve gone from reactive, over stimulated, frustrated and restrained on lead to happy, content, fulfilled dogs living their best lives off lead ready for many years of camping adventures.

As sad as I am that their programmes have ended, I’m so happy they’ve achieved what they set out to 🧡

*Waits for people to run to the comments to tell me how social their GSD is and that I’m stereotyping… ⏱️

This very much a bold generalisation, but, different breeds are different for a reason. Some are super social, some are aloof, some are more defensive, some are independent, some are handler focussed and that’s all for good reason - genetics.

We can’t ignore genetics of the breed itself and the individual dog, and in many cases the German Shepherd can be aloof and quite frankly selective with people and dogs.

None of which means I love them any less, in fact, maybe more 🤔😅
