🥵 extreme heat 🥵

It's going to be hot, especially on Monday and Tuesday. Please take extra care with your pets of all shapes and sizes! 🐶🐱🐰🐹🐭

We are lucky to have air conditioning in the practice. However if you need to make an essential journey or to visit us in the extreme heat please consider your journey to us.

❗️🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️walking? Pavements can get EXTREMELY hot. Burnt feet are very painful 😣

❗️🚗 driving? We all know dogs die in hot cars. This doesn't just mean stationary vehicles - heatstroke car occur in pets travelling in cars too. Nobody wants to (or can afford to!) waste fuel ⛽️ but please use your air conditioning and make sure your car is cool before putting your pet in the vehicle. No air conditioning? Please don't risk it!

❗️is your pet higher risk? Flat faced breeds (brachycephalic breeds) are at particular risk in this weather. Extreme caution advised!

❗️Please remember to be to be vigilant for cases of fly strike - rabbits 🐇 are particularly prone to this but we have seen cases in cats and dogs too
